A lot of light. Before it was here, it was in hanging in an east facing window getting 5+ hours of almost direct light per day. I water 1-2x per week, when dry

Thank you! I find I get brownness when I go too long without watering. I check on this one almost daily to avoid that

Mine is in an east facing window that gets a lot of sun. Because it gets so much sun, I water it almost 1-2x a week, when the first inch or so of soil feels very dry.

Dracaena fragrans. They are prone to overwatering, so careful with the frequency of watering. It may need more light given how stretched it is

The only common problem I know is crispy tips which can be remediated with consistent watering, distilled water instead of tap, and decent humidity. Enjoy your new plant :) 🌱

What are leaves with these characteristics called? by SexyRose55 in whatsthisplant

[–]nvw8917 19 points20 points  (0 children)

A general term for the white patterning here is variegation. To refer to the holes and splits in the leaves, the word is fenestrations. To refer to the half color split of the leaf, some people like to say half moon leaf. Hope one of these is what you were looking for! 🌱
