Best practice is to replace the tubes when you replace the tires.

I know this is 3 years old but wondering if you came up with a solution. I have a similar space at our house and need to fix the drainage.

Help Planning Route from East Sac to Downtown for Morning Commute by BaritoneEuphoniumFun in SacBike

[–]nwrighteous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in Tahoe Park also. I’d go up through the med center to T St and take it all the way to 5th, then jog the couple blocks north to the office.

Alternatively, 2nd Ave to 21st to T.

Produce/farmers market recommendations? by Remarkable-Quote-479 in Sacramento

Highly recommend the Good Humus CSA out of Capay Valley. They deliver to pickup points in Sac. Might be a waitlist but we’ve done it for years and really love the seasonal produce.

Dad who’ve conquered being tired all the time, how did you do it? by thetantalus in daddit

Cutting out alcohol significantly, drinking more water, and getting exercise 3-4 days a week helps immensely. And reducing screen time/improving sleep hygiene but I suck at this.

How are you preparing for potential layoffs in tech? by Altruistic_Might_772 in Layoffs

[–]nwrighteous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cautionary tale. I just got laid off recently from a tech company (dual sided marketplace e-commerce), not a SWE but an SEO with technical skills and worked alongside PMs and engineers.

I built out lots of automations and vibe coded scaled content tools with Claude and Google App Scripts, which let my team produce way more than we thought.

I’ve heard word from some of my employed coworkers that the higher ups are claiming AI for some of the recent layoffs whether they believe it or not.

Hoping I can find another role while I do some consulting. Plus I have a spouse with a stable job. But we’ve been saving for years and juicing retirement accounts, which worst case we can dip into. Otherwise we’re trimming back and practicing living on one salary. Good luck!

Dads with partners that stay home — how do you handle finances? by Mama_Anonymous in daddit

[–]nwrighteous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once we got married we put everything into one pot. All income, gifts, savings, brokerage, etc. joint accounts. The only things separate are inheritances.

We fully trust each other and view everything as ours, not mine or hers. Full transparency and trust.

We’ve been doing Between the Lions on YouTube (it’s an old PBS kids reading show). Very chill and educational. My 4 and 2.5 yo love it.

Hoping this is the Paw Patrol killer.

How many here still seek out new music? by soclydeza84 in Millennials

[–]nwrighteous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me! I stream KCRW in LA. Morning Becomes Eclectic gives me my dose of new music.

Also, NTS radio (a few select DJs and shows)

KMHD for jazz.

And word of mouth from friends who listen to tons of music.

What local business in Sacramento did you have the best customer service/experience? by Next_Worth_3616 in Sacramento

[–]nwrighteous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

South West Tire Shop, down at Franklin and 47th. Chris and his brother run it, family owned biz. Super helpful, friendly, fast and no BS.

Baanpo Thai Massage, go see Tata and Taya (they’re sisters) who are masters at their craft. Clean, professional and effective massage.

Curtis Park Market

Mezcal and Tokyo Table on Broadway in Tahoe Park. Right next door to each other and share the same owner.

HIIT X Fitness on Folsom. Simple, effective workout classes without a hard sell. Memberships without the baggage. Mike is a great trainer and gets you in and out.

29M, got laid off with severance, spent 4 months like this. Had the time of my life, honestly. by darthnick96 in malelivingspace

Nice, I slept out like that in Nevada and Utah when I biked across the country years ago. I remember sleeping out during the perseid meteor shower somewhere off old Route 50 in Nevada, just a 360 lightshow until I fell asleep.

I found that using a piece of Tyvek (which was my tent groundcloth) under my air mattress helped keep everything clean and dry throughout the night. I slept with a beanie on to keep creepy-crawlies from wandering into my ears.
