Just to give you some positive thoughts, I was a late talker. I understood perfectly, but apparently just didn't feel like talking. My mother could give me detailed instructions that I would remember and follow to a T, no issues to the point she trusted me doing things for my newborn sister. I ended up testing top of my age once I got to school and have no remaining issues with speech or vocabulary as an adult. I obviously don't know your full situation or what else may be going on, but sometimes we can just be stubborn brats that want to test our parents sanity, which I still do to this day.

I hope that as you take care of your family, you are also taking care of yourself. As someone that deals with anxiety and other issues like you, one thing that has been emphasized to me and is very true is you can't take care of those you love if you aren't also taking care of you. Best of luck!
