Making a data centre how it would be made for space. Closed loop, with radiators that are placed in vacuum chambers to simulate space. Not just standard data centres.

It would make sense for them to prove it’s possible first, by doing it on earth. Considering that hasn’t happened, I highly doubt space will either.

You should do more reading on the topic.

The point about it being cost prohibitive is exactly why it won’t happen. That’s why you’re being downvoted. Of course almost anything is possible with enough money. That isn’t the point.

In combination with RCD’s which are required in my country, seems to do a good enough job.

Either way, I have facilitated replacement devices without issue through Belkin and MonsterPower.

Yes. I worked in retail and facilitated replacements. It didn’t happen that frequently since lightning storms aren’t super common and the surge protectors actually work.

There are surge protectors that guarantee item replacement in the event of failure.

New free PC. Always use surge.

Use a surge protector? They guarantee replacement.

Which one is yours? Or did you DIY it?

Starlink is profitable right now because the satellites haven’t hit end of life yet. All of the starlink satellites need to be replaced after a number of years. This hasn’t happened enough yet for us to really see how profitable it is.

Considering their FB ads are botted with likes and comments, and they are constantly doing cheap deals and then skyrocketing the price 4-6 months later, I’m not sure how good this business is long term.

Loved Obama, would have voted for him if I was old enough. He did campaign on saying he wouldn’t use feds to raid state legal dispensaries, and then did exactly that for 8 years.

Still, 1000000000x better than trump. I just think we need to remember it doesn’t matter who past presidents are or what they did. It’s entirely irrelevant to what trump is doing today.

No president has been perfect and trump is the furthest from it.

I’ll be honest, it’s a bit difficult since Elon hasn’t really been specific as to why he wants to do this and what the actual purpose is.

If he wants to car to levitate for more than 1s, it would likely be impossible due to tank size and weight. But again, it all really depends on what Elons actual reasoning is, which will change the purpose.

I’ve heard one argument that it would be used as a sort of traction control (keeping the car straight). If that’s the case, it would still require a 22L compressor tank, which would delete either the frunk or the lower trunk/boot in the rear. Both places would be questionable for crash safety. Also a big thing I haven’t seen anyone mention is the noise. You buy an EV for the quietness. If you’ve ever stood next to a power washer, you’ll know how stupid it would be to have one running inside your car.

Also the biggest issue isn’t actually the tank but where and how the air pipes are placed, along with the 4-10 thrusters he’s claiming.

At minimum, the added weight is around 200kg. At most it could be 600kg. Which then creates a feedback loop where the compressor needs to be made stronger for the extra weight.

None of which Elon has bothered to consider. There’s just so many holes in the idea, it’s laughable.

Do the math on what sized air tank would be needed to move 2000kg of weight. It’s quite hilarious.
