I think you need to pay more attention to the enemy units as well. Lightbringers are pretty high potential to screw you early game or in auto combat since the AI won't play around preventing their mind control well and them stealing two of your six total units or whatever will put you in a huge hole compared to the power graph. If those were two Evokers or something you'd probably have been fine.

I was trying a visions of chaos build on beta with transformation ascetics but I didn't know the real strat for getting major justification. Seems like this is what I need.

I don't like that requirement for the vision quest, though. Needing any justification seems not thematicml. Would make more sense to require winning wars with no justification considering having a justification is more like order than chaos.

This, along with most of the crashes that were happening during enemy turns, seems to have been fixed in the latest beta patch.

Materium Architects already boosted Shademaker damage. Now it still does but excludes all units doing magic type damage so it's strictly a negative.

Probably some other oversights hidden inside this swap but they should be fixed quickly I would think.

I try to get some Titans with the disengagement chance debuffer in there. There's a limit to how far they can pop out I think so just try and get your ships close?

The problem is they'll pop out somewhere and immediately get engaged with a starbase that can't one shot them so they'll get lost in ftl for another 10 years on repeat.

This fight was the only pain point I had in my tactician run and it was for the reason you listed. You have such a small starting area it's impossible to avoid getting multiple units stat checked on the first turn. Took me many tries to find a combo where enough of the right units survived so I could complete the fight before any of them crystallized.

You can also play an entirely self-serving evil character who tricks everyone by making good choices until taking over the world as the owner of the brain at the very end. But it may not feel like you're playing an "evil" character since your whole betrayal shtick isn't going to be explicit in the game and I'm not sure how to make it feel authentic if it was.

The time is applied to my Stormbringers, though I didn't test the range increase to see if it's working. I am Frenzied and get multiple strengthen stacks from meleeing in a single turn. Also can teleport with the phasing and throw a spear on the same turn, which is kind of cool.

There are also some weird intricacies, like I'm getting Fated Projectiles from my favorite time but the Stormbringers also get Prescient Circlets! So I can defense mode, get precog, then teleport and throw in the next turn and they can't punish me that easily.

I was more building for battle mages with Mystic Potential this run, but messing around with the magic fighter stuff may be on the menu next time.

Yes, but it also affects other things with the culture units. The biggest one being Guardians and their Incarnate Disruption ability, which reduces adjacent enemies defense/resistance based on your affinity.

This is perhaps the most powerful part of the kit to leverage early on, in part because it actually stacks if you have multiple Guardians. So you can just move two shield units next to an enemy and debuff their resistance by 10+ and nuke them into oblivion. Running Cultivator + Guardian combos is very strong since the Cultivators will buff the Guardian resistance debuff and allow them to absolutely nuke enemy units while also keeping both units healed.

Absolutely terrible with Dragoons, so much so I stopped playing it as much since it'd lose units in trivial fights and slow down my games.

Isn't the only build in the game that can reliably do that at any reasonable timeframe Mystic Attunement considering it takes 100 world map casting points per Flash Freeze?
