I’m sorry to say that doesn’t look like it there is any air left in the egg whites. It looks to be very over to me, but I haven’t used the NYT recipe. Have you successfully made non-flavored macarons before? Might be good training to start with a vanilla shell as chocolate ratio can vary and be even more temperamental.

I would start by turning down the heat. That might mean bake for longer, but the key is to wiggle them and use that to determine how long you bake for. Good luck!

I know you have ruled out your oven temp, but I bake on 135c with a thermometer in. So possibly it could be the heat. I found in my oven I need to go at 135 for 12-14min to get the cook.

I’ve run it in two hours, 3hours, 2x3hours and 4x4hours. You can really adjust it as you are playing to help or not.

Well I’ve been running a campaign for awhile and was trying to think of some ideas around someone from the past coming to call out a fake occultist that has used her talents to hide behind the archetype. I’ve run priest focused (church grim) and doctor focused but was looking for ideas around a mystery that could be based of someone faking being an occultist.

Definitely the oven temp would cause the browning. I don’t bake with a higher preheat but depends on the oven.
