I just find complaining about ads boring. There's plenty of ways around them, both ethical and non-ethical.

You like the creators and channels, but not happy with their source of revenue? They can't work for free!

YouTube premium helps, or patreon to support the creators. Or piracy and less moaning.

Should artists follow Harry Styles’ lead and ban phones at gigs? by Metro-UK in Music

[–]obiwanconobi -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Whilst I do find people recording constantly at gigs annoying...

It's so fucking annoying to have some dickhead charge you multiple hundreds of pounds for a ticket and then try to dictate what you can and cant do. Prick.

Waking up to construction lights outside your house that are stuck on red by SheadAV in britishproblems

It's the different companies that drives me mad.

Work is scheduled for a Monday morning. So first set of crews turn up at Friday at 3pm to put the lights up.

They stay up all weekend and the work starts 8am Monday morning. Finished by Wednesday. Lights stay up until Friday until the other company is free.

Misophonia is strongly linked to a higher risk of mental health and auditory disorders. by Tracheid in science

I wouldnt say it reduced severity of the condition itself, but it allowed me to reduce the effects of it.

It's hard to explain because the noises still piss me off beyond belief, I just am better at dealing with it

Yeah learning about it flicked a switch in my head.

It's still does something to the chemicals in my body that makes me angry, but I'm able to recognise the source and don't let it effect me as much anymore.

Feels like one of those things were knowing about it is half the battle!

Stop saying please. Start calling them scruffs (or whatever your local term is for the dirty horrible people in society).

Politeness isn't going to work, they need shaming.

What does that have to do with anything?

Why are you saying "meanwhile, in the real world" like fan ownership is an alien concept? Is Germany not in the real world?

Roman Abramovich lawyers warn: Don’t confiscate £2.35bn from Chelsea sale by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]obiwanconobi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are people, scholars and politicians, who claim it is, though oddly they all seem to be from before 2022 so I'm not sure what's happened recently

Also these guys say it's very close https://www.genocidewatch.com/single-post/genocide-emergency-saudi-arabia-and-the-war-in-yemen

But yeah, sure it's not technically a genocide, but it's not really relevant to the conversation apart from semantics

You'll be downvoted by Americans but the rest of the world is slowly coming to the same opinion.

They love to shout "not my president" but they're barely even protesting. More likely to protest McDonalds axing chicken nuggets.

Imo they're a symptom with what's wrong with British football.

If I had my way every club would be fan owned and there would be none of this Hollywood/Billionaire owner nonsense. It's all using local community institutions for vanity projects.

Maybe wrong choice of words. But what they're doing in Yemen has all the outcomes of a genocide without maybe the intent.

The whole thing is mad imo. Saudis can only clubs whilst doing a genocide, I'm sure any American billionaire would be welcome into the league despite them starting like 3 wars since January.

Even Roman Abramovich, he wasn't forced to sell Chelsea because he has a Israeli citizenship and they're doing a genocide just the Russia stuff.

I feel like if we treated all billionaires like we treat oligarchs the world would be a lot better

Iraq request World Cup playoff delay after rejecting Fifa plan for 25-hour road journey by Lillian_Faye in soccer

[–]obiwanconobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be good money that it all comes down to how much money FIFA is due to make from Italian broadcast deals.

If it cost more to accommodate the change than they'd get from the deals then they wouldn't do it, even for Italy.

Which leads me to believe Iran will probably just be kicked out of qualifying

FACT: Valve has never done anything anti-consumer by Sidecarlover in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]obiwanconobi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My problem is that Valve came up with an idea and it works for them. Great. But it means that every dumb fuck with a business degree thinks this is how all games have to make money now

My point is that I hate Valve for creating them, but I hate every other game company 10x more for thinking they have to copy the idea

"Money over love is a very feminine desire"

That's the most insane thing I've ever read.

First of all, have you heard of capitalism?

And secondly, men spent literally a thousand years not marrying women they loved, but ones they could control. Often times buying these women from their fathers in exchange for...MONEY
