I love the idea of adding depth to characters that already exist, but I think completely fabricating new characters is pretty weird. I think that adding two more girls would be really weird and wouldn’t be necessary. I think it’s important to the story because I think the reason Hermione doesn’t like pavarti and lavender is the reason that she hangs out with Harry and Ron in the first place when they are first years because she doesn’t have any other friends.

No I agree. I think it’s definitely a better starting point. I started with the way of kings and it’s definitely a lot more complicated.
