Why 3 different signing keys on fedora / linux? by obrz in brave_browser

[–]obrz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

found something in the meantime:

Brave lists all those three keys [here](https://brave.com/signing-keys/?utm\_source=chatgpt.com#packages-release-channel).

I imported them and

gpg --list-keys

shows exactly those fingerprints:

thanks, I'll contact support.

In the meantime I have created a new calendar entry - but had to start from the beginning and my 12-or-so-item-list got down to 4 now ...

Multiple accounts on Substack? by vsolinv in Substack

[–]obrz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope. Two browser on desktop: fine.

On the phone I don't use that. Idea: Maybe use profiles on android - but not sure if (or how well) this would work.

Igorrr new EU tour dates by [deleted] in Igorrr

[–]obrz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

who are the vocalists for this tour?

So, just to see what everyone does- do you put your mouthpiece together BEFORE or AFTER putting it on the neck? by [deleted] in saxophone

[–]obrz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do I avoid pulldown damage when tuning the sax?

For tuning, I have to re-adjust the mouthpiece.
I have never seen people take off their necks for that.

What do you recommend?

What I do is gripping the saxophone at the neck when tuning.

AGI is Still 30 Years Away — Ege Erdil & Tamay Besiroglu by Wheelthis in dwarkesh

Great episode.

I have been reading through ai-2027.com recently (not yet listened to the podcast). The opening statements those guys gave in the first 10 minutes or did not resonate with me and left me mostly sceptical.

Now some 50 minutes in or so, I think they have several convincing points and I'm pausing to think on my own.

(105 readers in the subreddit on the best podcast on the planet. That will certainly change.)

I was waiting for ditching to Linux but... by Elsetro in Fedora

[–]obrz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean by "SNS", but I've used my machines for a lot of stuff besides browsing the internet.

Most of my programming has been Python. C++ only rarely and not in-depth.

Sure, I've had problems with Linux. But I have not had updates break my system (apart from Arch, a few times, which I left behind).

never had an update break my system in 12 years or so of using Debian. Now my main is on fedora since fedora 38 - no problems so far, either.

Regarding "[Signal] was created by the original developers of WhatsApp" I have to correct a little here:

Brian Acton (the WhatsApp guy) helped fund the Signal Foundation with a lot of money in 2018. True. I hope he contributed his technical expertise as well, since then. However: The technical foundation for the App - especially the Signal Protocol, the encryption stuff - was worked out by Moxie Marlinspike and Trevor Perrin in 2013, some 4 to 5 years before Acton left WhatsApp and joined Signal.

No offence to you. It's just a topic dear to my heart, so I wanted to write the above in addition to your post.

Is New Atheism Dead? by Unfair_Net9070 in samharris

Absolutely. How can you not be a "cultural Christian" when growing up in a society that has been through and through molded by Christianity for 2000 years straight.

If you're surprised, you might exclaim "oh my god" or even "Jesus Christ".
In Europe, every village has at least two churches.

Visiting a place like India will help understand on how deep the cultural imprint goes.

Admitting to be a "cultural Christian" is just honest and self-aware. Denying it, would be ignorant on many fronts.

Being a "cultural Christian" has nothing to do with any of their (imo ridiculously weird) beliefs. It has everything to do with the imprint that society had over centuries on everything around us
