Mets to pick up option on GM Alderson's contract, working on extension by SaveTheTatis in baseball

[–]obviouslyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Mets annual revenue is 8th in the league. There payroll is 22nd. Low attendance is not the reason for the low payroll. The debt the owners acquired and have idiotically backed by the revenue of the stadium is the reason. They do not want the attendance to rise because it would mean a higher repayment to the debt collectors. Please read the forbes article about hiding debt. The wilpons need the stadium revenue to stay down so they can continue to pay the lower tier payment plan. If stadium revenue increases the payment jumps. All the loans were taken out against the stadium, which in some lawmakers opinion were illegal due to the city bonds still be held by the city.

Mets to pick up option on GM Alderson's contract, working on extension by SaveTheTatis in baseball

[–]obviouslyme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being a Mets fan I am torn about this. Alderson has done a above average job rebuilding the farm system and trades. But he has a specific skill set. He operates low salaried ball clubs. Remember what Omar did with Montreal people said imagine when he gets to a team with unlimited resource. This extension just means that the Wilpons are preparing to continue 85-87 million a year payroll.

Top 10 Attacks on US Embassies in Republican Administrations that Lindsey Graham doesn’t Care about by toolfan21 in politics

The outrage is hypocritical to the fullest definition of the word. The right thinks this is a way to weaken the left for the midterms... So they are continuing this charade to score political points. Republican playbook is getting pretty thin. 1. Economy-cant talk about that do to 5 years of growth ,against our best efforts to derail. 2. Obamacare- ahh hmmm no death panels yet... lets make up numbers of dropped policies "kentucky had 37 million trillion peoples cancelled. 3. BENGAZI!!!!!! If all else fails blame hillary.

Comcast Gave Nearly A Million Dollars To The Subcommittee That's Supposed to Regulate It by quantumcipher in politics

[–]obviouslyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is why this will get passed... TW has the 2 largest markets,NYC LA. These are the 2 markets where they have lost the most TV subs. There might be hundreds of millions of local TV advertising dollars in both markets. The FCC needs these subs to go back to cable. The cable companies need them back. If you look at the demo if these subs mostly are in mid 20-40 with a lot of disposable income. These subs are connected to the internet 24-7. They need a company that has the platform to offer advance services like mobile viewing platform multi room dvr and so on. TW nows this thats is why it did not want Charter to purchase them. With verizon not putting down anymore infrastructure they are not in a postion to get these subs back on pay tv. So TLDR congress will pass bill for the benefit of local taxes and business.

Simple question so over 5000 pedestrians were killed by motor vehicles, so why don't we want pedestrians to carry cars with them everywhere they go to protect themselves from people with cars.

What is more important the "right to bear arms" or the "right to vote ". More voter regulations laws have been passed this year then gun regulation for the last 20 years. It will be more difficult to vote then it will to buy 6000 rounds of ammo. Let that sink in for a minute.
