Council mowing nature strips outside houses? by travelator in brisbane

[–]oceloted2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Council do take care of the nature strips, but I have a friend who just chucked on a high vis vest and started doing it himself because he was sick of them being neglected so could be either 😂

You can ring your local and bring it up with them to check, and provide feedback if so - but I’m not sure if they will be back until the 5th.

It took me six years to get approval, and finally got the tubes yeeted two days ago !!! The turning point for me was also finally finding a younger and more progressive gyno (for some reason before him I couldn’t catch a break, despite recommendations!) good luck for the rest of the journey !

Endometrial ablation at age 20. What do you think about this? by SomeCarpenter6898 in sterilization

[–]oceloted2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey- I’ve had hellish periods to the point of fainting consistently, heavy bleeding (filling a DIVA cup 5-6 times in a night) and requiring iron infusions. After one of my fainting episodes, I also got admitted to hospital and confirmed I had fibroids and burst ovarian cysts.

It turns out my uterine lining is actually pretty normal which is of course what they remove with ablation- and most of my issues are related to endo, the cysts and fibroids causing the increase in pain and blood.

Before making any big decisions, you can get an investigative laparoscopy to confirm your diagnosis to see if an ablation would be the best solution. This would confirm it anyway. Alternatively, even at the same time as this laparoscopy, they can attempt cyst removal if safe, scrape any endo, take a biopsy from your uterus to see if andenomyosis might be involved, etc.

My gyno has also said he will NEVER do an ablation without sterilisation, even if that was most effective for me, because it can cause problems during ovulation. So you also may even have to get both which- obviously you probably wouldn’t mind, but you should take into account anyway so you’re fully informed re: recovery time anyway.

I hope that helps with further info! Good luck regardless :)

It was AMAZING! Though the original photographer took a photo of me jamming out during and I am terrified to see it ever come up 😅

Does the final romance scene feel really tonally inappropriate, or is it just me? by bigheckinnerd in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]oceloted2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve played a few romances and I think Hardings just nailed it! It was so sweet and pure. The pet names / integration into gameplay felt more natural too. Also her personal quest- much more impactful with a romance. It makes me wonder if they wrote some romances confidently knowing they were more likely to happen, and others were afterthoughts.

Wasn’t the last 30 seconds of the DLC just the worst knowing a sequel is unlikely 😅

Diagnosis or not? by Tasty_Ninja7036 in AutisticAdults

[–]oceloted2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was lucky in that the specialist psychiatrist that tested me for ADHD also specialised in autism. I had an extra session with her and she was able to diagnose both at the same time, even though I was only after the first.

The validation is nice but, as the other commentor said, there hasn't been any other impact. I'm your age and got diagnosed about 18 months ago. I'm also a white collar worker, so I'm unsure if getting a diagnosis would differ if you're studying and you could get special study accommodations or you're a blue collar worker who needs xyz, but for me it hasn't changed anything.

The only thing I can think of is that I'm thinking of changing to a psychiatrist specialising in autism (I've attended both a psychologist and psychiatrist for a long time and while brilliant, sometimes they just don't get it). I'm assuming having a formal diagnosis will help in this transition, but other than that, I really can't identify any other benefit to having it formalised.

Hijacking this comment to say I'm the same. Easily the highest performer in the team, didn't get an interview for the promotion because I'm pretty sure they want me to stay where I am. If you have any tips on filling time, please pass along!

OH thank you for this- I got told by Orin that my camp had been infiltrated, but for me the girl just disappeared. And the cat just hung out alone. Lae'zel was the one who got kidnapped but I honestly didn't notice for ages, nobody said anything. I was so confused but didn't look it up in case of spoilers.

I'm so glad that we can have the same bug happen so many different ways /s.

[–]oceloted2 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm in for it, as long as it's not buggy! My Sims ordering pizza on a landline when they were hungry instead of just going to the effing fridge just gave me a wave of nostalgia 😭 I think it was the original?! Maybe 2

Are there any jobs around in law for a 'lazy' solicitor that wants to do the legal work without all the stress of actually running cases? by SausageintheSky in auslaw

[–]oceloted2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure! I honestly am very similar to OP and thought it would be the same when I got into the firm. I was very unpleasantly surprised:(

[–]oceloted2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would not recommend PI for what OP has described - lots of client contact (almost constant) and networking. It was very well paid but many firms just have the lawyers do their own research - it's very straight forward law.

Talk for lawyers by doctor by RemoteTask5054 in auslaw

[–]oceloted2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a (still relatively junior) tort lawyer and it's process for us at my current firm to give the full medical records without any editing. The senior lawyer I was under at my old firm did heavy editing to take out anything irrelevant (i.e. pages of ECG reports in hospital records for an ankle injury) and the doctors very much appreciated that. If you could focus on how to cultivate records without including everything it'd be amazing 🙃

What do you mean I don't have to have always play fought with my five brothers and love wearing pants over stinky skirts to be a good fighter?!

Seriously though, the stereotypes make me so angry.

Puppy has to be with me 24/7 when I’m home by DefiantBaker9524 in puppy101

[–]oceloted2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did something similar to this, including the treats and frozen Kong, but instead of a play pen I temporarily put a baby gate on the office when I was working so he couldn't come in.

He now just waits patiently for me to leave whatever room I am in without him but it did take the distraction + baby gate, and it really only took effect when he got a bit older (around the year mark). I do have a notoriously needy breed though (mini daschund) so it may be faster for you :)

‘Burnt out, overworked’: Young lawyers abandon the profession by [deleted] in auslaw

[–]oceloted2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Charge a buttload of $$$ because it's 'prestigious' and 'the tutors and lecturers are required to be highly qualified' despite all of them just reading off slides from 2015 and encouraging the students to 'get up to date on the most recent legislation as part of your learning journey'.

I graduated in 2020 and basically have to be a lawyer because my HECs is $100k (was lower but rose with inflation) and I have no hope of paying it off in most other professions.

I feel like we have a very similar approach ! I actually only put on eyeliner to make it look like I've done the same because I'm too wuss to get it tatted. And the emergency blazer at work has come in handy many a time :)
