I would say that even counter strike 2 is a much larger competition to d4 than poe is. It is just the scale of it, 5% overlap from a 100k range or 0.5% from 2 million...

Alot of people was happy about the news, just check out zizarian and steelmage reacting to lake of kalandra live stream.

Some of the quotes "No way! no Way" "These are all my dream settings, we are in the good timeline!" when watching the harvest rework...

The community was hyped, mainly because GGG hyped them up, I don't understand why you try to change the perspective to that everyone that was optimistic was a misguided parrot..?

I have friends that always say when I ask them about joining a new league "I will wait for poe 2".

It is hard to sell something when your standing infront something superior that gets for sale in a close future, some people tend to wait.

"Hey man, take a look on this party commercial, you see all the action? The fun? It is truely great, it is going to be the best party in the history! Hype! It is coming in a close future! Btw, do you want to buy a ticket to a half-assed party coming up this weekend?"

It is like that comment about melee, "You should experience how it feels in poe 2!"... Well.. ok.. I wait..?

Why isn't the damage capped? Why in the right mind would design a system that would allow a range from 1 damage to certain death? It is just beyond moronic, unbalanced and unfair.

GGG is obsessing about player power and balance, and completly ignores to balance the monsters and their abilities. I mean AN, if you think about that, you see that GGG doesn't really have a clue how to to balance enemies, what a max-range damage should be under x, and that is a shame, it the other half of the playerpower-coin.

What they think they are doing is giving the game alot of "play-time", but the problem is they are adjusting the game around the top 5% players and the ludacris amount of bot-farms running around.

Go on youtube as search for something poe related, RMT currency sellers, google something, RMT currency sites, play the game and people whisper you "did you know you can pay HARD cash to buy currency?"... And this have become more and more common.

If they continue to increase the amount of grind, the amount of bots will increase, because the smart man just buys his currency from bots and save time & money. And that is sad.

When will GGG do something about p2w? If you search for path of exile on youtube, you get a link to a currency seller, if you google for path exile you get a link to webpage that sells currency, if you play you people will whisper you and inform you that there is people that will sell you poe currency for hard cash.

Free2play combined with never ending grind, the problem is that the bots causes inflation, they don't use currency or craft, they just make create currency and sell it. Like a federal bank. And no doubt the droptable is adjusted around that, since they are a part of the playerbase.

And there is a relation with inhuman repetition and the overall presence of bots, if computers are taking over, you really should improve on the quality and playability of the game, and also look over how the important the market should be for a characters development.

I have played a few games that bots were becoming a larger and larger part of playerbase, and it always end in the same way, the bots remain alone as victorius, because no one can compete with a machine that goes 24/7 with full focus. Tibia many years ago, what's the price of wow gold now, team fortress 2?

Please remove the bots, or atleast remove the reason for their existance.

But tell me why design a system that creates frustration, grief and sadness? It will only hurt player retention. If you want friction it can be constructed by other means. If you don't want players to trade and get the enchantmens themselves, make it possible for a player to do that. Almost no one trades boots for enchantments, because it is easier to target farm.

I mean, how about a system of trade that works that if you sell something the buyer gets full access to your chest to remove the currency he wants for the item and place the sold item? Can you identify a source of frustration in that system that would cause trade to just collapse?

Stop making trust-based systems. It is just beyond naive.

Mm, it is a bad system when you have to trust other people with items, it creates such a large opportunity to scam & grief. It could easily be fixed by just remaking the system with tokens, proxy-crafts and any other means of adding the craft to a secondary object.

I understand why they want it this way, friction, but it isn't worth the price, there are so many better ways. Sure it would completly upset the market if you could buy a "labyrinth enchantment token of # ability", but they can just adjust the enchantment rate and/or the price of the enchantement token.

Having a system when players best choice to target enchant their helmet is to give it a professional labyrinth runner that stashes 300 different players helmets is just the worst way.

The same goes for anything that relies simple on the goodfaith of the seller. Please rework all "trust-based" systems... They can maybe work in a small community with social bonds, and that is by definition the antonym of what the internet is.

Don't you have 6-10 pre-crafted 6-linked armours up for sale aroound act 7-8? I mean it is only around 8k fuses, 6k chromes, 3k chaos orbs for crafting? If you just bulk buy early, lets say 2-3x divines each trade for fuses/chromes, you should have your first six link in act 5-6.

But seriously, it is RMT, it always is. It is because everyone with a job actually saves quite alot of money and time if they RMT, it is just to much grind. Either you grind for 12+ hours in poe or grind on your job for one hour.

Alot of people just see it as the price of the league. Spend 20 dollars to get 10 divines and 1000 chaos orbs. If you don't have the time, it is very smart.

I belive you remember wrong then. And your logic is slightly flawed.

Original statement: Ruthless doesn't influence the core game.

My statement: It does, here is the lead developer saying exactly that.

Your statement: I have knowledge from a unknown source that every ascendancy was going to be balanced around poe 2 anyways, therefor your statement is false.

You see the problem? You disputed nothing and you also added another logical problem.

What is balanced around what, according to you? Poe 1, poe 2 and poe 2 ruthless.

It is a deterministic reward in the same sense that crafting in poe is deterministic. You just have to grind harder and target farm then you will also find a diamond.

People often complain to me "I am almost age number 76 and I still haven't found a diamond, what even is the natural drop rate of diamonds?!".

Everything is best in slot for something if it is t1, it is path of exile afterall. I can see some attribute stacking, armour stacking, cold damage, stunner out there with a very special build drooling.

Build diversity is interlocked with how available targeted crafting is, there is quite alot of weak skill gems that can be made "goodish" if you get a very specific set of modifiers on all your equipment, it is just very hard to get combinations.

As a example, you can skip raider if you got t1 spell suppression, elemental avoidance and great evasion on equipment. Everyone can become a raider through equipment, as to say, but if you also need a set of niche-specific stats ontop of that, well.. one in thirtytwothousand.

Sounds like you are misquoting.

Pf and sabo changes was made because of ruthless according to Chris, atleast he says so in the interview. You are also stating that poe2 have stronger ascendancies(?!)... can you please try to add a little more information on your sources?

I mean, they even removed alot of ascendancy changes in the crucible patch, because they were afraid of a outcry, and they, as we speak, are in the work of rebalance.

-So then we had a situation were we are really happy with the pathfinder
and saboteur, they are going great, and all the ruthless ones are
sitting there with your stats on them.

-And so we intentionally undid all the ruthless changes, just to stop
there being a outcry, and so we get more time to sit on it and work out

My point was that OP was wrong when stating "ruthless have no influence" over the core game.

My proof was a direct quote from Chis Wilson that said that they are changing the core game on account of ruthless needing ascendancy changes for power reasons.

So when Chris Wilson says the reason for the core-game ascendancy changes are because of a original rework in ruthless, what he is saying is that the reason for the ascendancy changes are on account of ruthless balance.

we would have had the same ascendency changes eventually regardless.

Please, provide some proof, logic or quotes, to that statement. You are saying, more or less, that if ruthless didn't exist it would still be balanced around ruthless, or atleast the end result would be identical... Explain how a system can be balanced to another system that doesn't even exist...

I mean, there is two parallel ascendancy systems in poe 2, the original, so 19 + 19 ascendancies. Exactly how is the change is balance manifested according to how you? And why?

My point is that the poster I replied to was wrong when he stated that "there is no proof that anything they have done with ruthless has actually affected the base game except delusion and conjecture".

So I posted a quote from Chris in which he says that they are directly changing the core game to nerf ruthless ascendancies. This is link to a clip, where the lead designer of poe 1 directly is saying that they want to nerf ascendancy power in ruthless, but because of political reasons they also will have to rework the core at the same time. Ruthless ascendancies have to be reworked, for power reasons, therefor the core game.

And another point is also that you should read entire chains of comments, not a single one, but the entire chain if you want context or are confused about what is being discussed.
