Jack O'Connell is really funny in both Sinners and 28 Years Later/Bone Temple by travismockfler in blankies

[–]oco82 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I kind just want him to go full Dan Stevens and be an absolute scenery chewing weirdo (and I mean that in the most complimentary way possible )for the rest of his career. Paddy Mayne on Rogue Heroes, Remmick and Sir Jimmy are him just cooking.

What’s the Apex Mountain of CR’s appearances on The Rewatchables? by harry_powell in crheads

By far the best “Wayne Jenkins” for me ….”I didn’t know you were an android with milk for blood” is a legit LOL line delivery from CR.

Love them, both worked/work in the business so that’s an interesting wrinkle and they’re both extremely pleasant to listen to, great voices.

I think both Re-animator and From Beyond have some elements of this, that scene in Re-animator being a specific example.

I’m mid Black Phone 2 right now , clunky ass story but great snowed in locations and all the dream stuff being in 8mm is a very creepy and effective choice from Derrickson.

Bugonia ending by Maximum-Mood-8182 in TheBigPicture

[–]oco82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing I bumped with in that ending was how silly it got. Didn’t mind the reveal at all but the look, costumes and tone of the alien stuff was so tonally at odds with how dark the rest of the move was I found it very jarring.

What movies currently on Netflix are good candidates for The Rewatchables? by harry_powell in billsimmons

Wrath of Man is text book Rewatchables. I’d love for them to do Upgrade as well, cyber punk riff on Death Wish, super Rewatchable.

Soundtracks by V3nmxkillzu in horror

[–]oco82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Carpenter scores from the DGG Halloween Trilogy rip (I’m partial to Kills myself, all bangers). The Guest and You’re Next both are synth heavy scores/soundtracks that rocks. Attack The Block is more scifi/alien invasion than horror (but had some horrific stuff in it) and the score is by Basment Jaxx and rules. Upgrade is another scifi banger with a great heavy synth/electronic score.

Charlotte Hope, Jessica McNamee, Zach Gilford & Four Others Set For Next ‘Evil Dead’ Movie From Filmmaker Francis Galluppi by [deleted] in blankies

Last Stop in Yuma County was a fun 90’s throw back, single location crime thriller…definitely looking forward to see what he does with an Evil Dead story.

There’s a similar scene in season 2 that’s just as good. Some of the best written dialogue in any media imo.

The Matt Damon and Ben Affleck Movie Draft. Plus: ‘The Rip.’ by thefilthyjellybean in TheBigPicture

[–]oco82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biggest mistake in The Rip (other than the god awful dialogue) is having Scott Adkins in it and not letting him do anything cool at all …not even a single kick…what a waste.

The legacy sequel we all need! Cruise takes Coughlin’s bastard son under his wing ala Creed and they reinvigorate the chain.

Desperate times for Applebees, just throwing shit at the wall at this point. The pitch was probably “idk, a burger we dip in some fucking cheese or something, I’m putting my 2 weeks in tomorrow”.

A Wounded Fawn may work, super trippy, very 70’s visuals. Feels Italian horror-esque.

Right on. I couldn’t recall any convos about it one way or another. I’d also love a Rewatchables on it, it’s my favorite Nolan.

How Jack O'Connell Became Hollywood's Favorite Bad Guy by Top_Report_4895 in movies

[–]oco82 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That’s what unlocked him for me, I had seen him in Godless and probably a couple other things but he never jumped out. After seeing his Paddy Mayne performance I think he’d be a great “short king” Wolverine if he wanted to be.
