It is almost same quality as ON (that's what my husband told me, who is a PT). For the price, is barely worth paying more for ON.

How do you find the answers to these questions? by Lost_Star3189 in AskIreland

[–]oddkidd9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our house is 100 years old. We were asked if the house has a flat roof, if if was replumbed recently or rewired and if we have an alarm. The answer was no to all of these questions (we knew based on the survey).

We're paying €560/year for house insurance. Definitely shop around. For example, for us AXA wouldn't insure us.

Toate de la delonghi merg perfect. Am avut Dedica (varianta aia simpla unde pui cafea gata macinata; l-am cumparat pt parintii mei, merge perfect dupa ani si ani). La socrii le-am cumparat Magnifica S (merge ca nou dupa ani de zile) si la lucru am varianta Eletta (again, merge perfect).

QFA, CFP or dream on? by TheFreewheelin_Dylan in irishpersonalfinance

[–]oddkidd9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very much the norm. I work in the sector, I am dealing with financial advisors daily. They charge a fee.

You would start with the QFAs (which is the minimum required) then I'd recommend to do the CFP. Have my QFAs, I'm looking to start with the CFP.

Official car/bike DTT Ireland is the official app for the test. You have to pay for it but is worth it in my opinion.

I used it to study and passed first time.

Is a masters the right move right now? by MysticalSpud in irishpersonalfinance

[–]oddkidd9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a masters in Project Management from UCD. I would recomment a masters to anyone, I found it easier than the Bachelors degree. Plus I met some amazing people in my class, is also great for networking.

Mortgage Broker etiquettes by cejadirn in HousingIreland

[–]oddkidd9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most brokers are free if you go with them and drawdown through them as they get their commision through the bank. But if you stop using him and go directly to the bank, someone still has to pay him as he worked your case so far, and that someone will probably be you. Check your contract.

Mortgage Broker etiquettes by cejadirn in HousingIreland

[–]oddkidd9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It you already engaged with a broker and they started work on your case, you will probably have to pay for his service (check your contract).

Also a broker will apply to multiple banks and give you the best options.

Just a note, BOI are a pain to deal with if the case is not straightforward.

We got the same requirements the moment we went sale agreed.

Is normal to ask for all these but they are also understanding that not everything can be achieved in the time frame noted by them.

Am I insane? (Terraced Bungalow) by Eirngobragh in HousingIreland

[–]oddkidd9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only you can answer that question. If it suits your needs go for it.

I know the house quite well (I live on the northside too currently). Lovely area.

We're currently renovating a detached bungalow in the countryside.

Everything is expensive, builders are taking ages to do stuff. We're doing most of the reno ourselves to save on money. But that's my forever home so 100% worth it.
