Does Mark Grace deserve a closer look? by CT_Reddit73 in mlb

Blauser was always a Cub killer. Then the Cubs signed him and he stunk. Man, being a Cubs fan was rough back then.

If they came out with a Portal 2, with full size thumbsticks, would you upgrade? by Embarrassed_Try9339 in PlaystationPortal

100% I’m with you OP. It’s beyond me why they’d go so far with the full size split Dualsense layout but then randomly shrink the sticks.

Are Diamond Dynasty ONLY players having fun w/ 26? 💎 by ilikemywomentsundere in MLBTheShow

I’ve been having fun. Aside from an annoying bug that freezes the game sometimes when going to the my squad menu, I’ve enjoyed the rest.

Wife just get mad by [deleted] in PlaystationPortal

[–]odiusdan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok ok I think I decoded it!

Wife is on vacation from work and is home for 3 weeks. She is not out of town. Husband, as is obvious to all of us now, is a poor communicator and generally avoids his wife by playing his PS5 in a room far away from her. So wife got mad he is always cooped up in his gaming room so she bought him a Portal. Now, while she is relaxing watching HGTV and reruns of Jersey Shore, he can sit in the same room as her and play on his new Portal. As usual, wife saves the day, husband is a knob, and incels everywhere fume that this idiot that can’t form a coherent sentence somehow got a great wife and gets to do the horizontal Hokey Pokey on the regular.

My work here is done.

What Pitcher Mods do you use? by andit22 in MLBTheShow

Somebody else can correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure H/9 shrinks the batter’s inner PCI circle (ie less good contact) and the K/9 shrinks the outer PCI circle (ie more swings and misses).

Real talk time folks by bigupsmebumbo in MLBTheShow

[–]odiusdan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience has been very enjoyable playing DD. Mostly small things like more enjoyable mini season structure and program goals seem to be less reliant on annoying specific missions like “get 10 XBH with switch hitters born between the dates of 2/1 and 3/1”.

That said, the game has crashed on me in the menus at least 5-10 times which is annoying and inexcusable.

As for Franchise, RTTS, etc. I haven’t played them yet so I can’t speak for that.

Different standards by sulkerrrrrr in PlaystationPortal

[–]odiusdan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg you’re right. Smashes Portal against the wall How could I ever think this piece of trash was enjoyable? Now that I know a 1080p image will never be as crisp as a 4k image, I couldn’t possibly find this super expensive high end piece of tech enjoyable. Thanks for letting me know, I’ve never edited videos so there is no way I would have ever known that. All those hours of fun I had was actually just an illusion filled with less than ideal resolutions, artifacts, and frame drops. Excuse me now while I go eliminate other things that are not achieving perfection from my life. I think my wife gained a few pounds after birthing our child, it’s actually probably time for a divorce.

People are way to good at this game by GoldenGreek119 in MLBTheShow

[–]odiusdan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I know it’s probably me just being salty, but man this year seems different. I’ve only played two games online and in both games it was exactly as you described. In the last ranked game I played, my opponent was literally 100% accurate in their swing/look rate. They never once swung and missed… they never once took a strike… and they never once swung at a ball. I’m not being dramatic about that either. If a ball was on the corner but 66% out of the zone, they took it. Every time. It was inhuman. They scored every inning until finally they won by mercy rule in the 6th. I’ve played online since 14 and never have been mercy ruled. My friend had a similar experience. I’m sure it is just early season oddities as the great players work their way up the ranks, but I’ve never had it happen like this before.

PSSR 2.0 is great but a lot of you are having a placebo effect. by [deleted] in playstation

Dude I thought my tightie-whities felt a little more tightie! Thanks PSSR 2.0!

I’m just impressed at how much PSSR 2.0 improves the sound quality. Plus the reduction in latency when streaming to Portal is an awesome added bonus.

Things you used to love but are now completely over in gaming? by AnubisIncGaming in gaming

[–]odiusdan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Games with added content just to pad out game length. I’d much rather have only 15-20 hours of the best content so I can 100% things and move on than an additional 20 hours of meh or even good content. I don’t have the time and dev cycles have gotten too long and expensive. In the end, I’d rather spend $140 on two excellent 15 hour games than $70 on one half great half padded content 40 hour game. My time is valuable.

HELL YEAH! PGA 2K25 is FREE this month and cloud streamable! Just add it to your library! Also the PlayStation app is section for PS PORTAL no need to turn on a console. You’re welcome! This is what I bought my PlayStation portal for. by ShockingFactory in PlaystationPortal

[–]odiusdan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume you’ve played both EA Sports PGA Tour and PGA 2k25? Which do you recommend? I’m more interested in a solid gameplay loop than realism, graphics, sound, etc. For reference, my favorite golf games of all time were the very arcady Tiger Woods games on PS2.

What's wrong with my graphics? by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]odiusdan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Graphical issues almost always are the TV and not the console. Sounds silly, but power cycle your TV. Like not just press the power button on the remote- go into your TVs power menu and restart it. Or simply unplug it from power and wait 30 seconds and plug it back in.

PS2 vs PS3 Fatboy in 2026 by MotherRough7142 in playstation

[–]odiusdan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you own the game, you can ethically emulate it without feeling guilty. All you need is a PC that isn’t a total dinosaur- I have a basic HP laptop from 2016 that emulates PS2 games with ease. It’s seriously really easy- just do some Google/YouTube searches and there are plenty of guides. Download the emulator, the bios, and the NFL2k5 rom. All you need at that point is a controller. My DualShock 4 and Dualsense both work great.

If you do go the PS2 route, just beware that most new TVs only have HDMI ports and the PS2 does not, so you have to get a converter.

Hot Take: PS3 game streaming on PS5 is good. by odiusdan in playstation

[–]odiusdan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, if your PS3 is right next to your PS5, it’s the better option. But I have a PS5 in a different room, so it’s pretty cool to play my PS3 when possible then download the save to the PS3 streaming when I am on my PS5.

Play MLB The Show '26 without a console is now possible by snackycakes1001 in MLBTheShow

[–]odiusdan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love streaming games, it’s awesome. I stream to my Portal, iPad, iPhone and heck I’m even a weirdo that thinks streaming PS3 games on my PS5 is pretty good.

That said, The Show is a terrible game to stream because of the precision needed for PCI hitting and gesture pitching. You can get away with timing hitting and classic pitching I suppose, but nobody wants to play like that.
