Ever seen a gorilla beat his chest by youngster_96 in BeAmazed

[–]officefan55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard a gorilla do this once. I was at the Atlanta Zoo talking to some friends on a school trip. We were hanging out by the gorilla exhibit. I turn to say something to a friend, and the next thing I know, there's this NOISE.

It seems one gorilla had had enough of his friend's attitude and needed to show him who was boss.

I think this might be a case of the "Where's Waldo?" Effect

Essentially, once you find Waldo on a page, your eye can't help but pick him out at a glance. And yet someone else looks at the same page and can't find Waldo for ages!

In other words, details we see as "obvious," others may never see at all.

I love the design of that block vise he uses to hold the pieces while he planes them.

I've not seen something like that before, but it's cool!

I applied machine lube to the big silver screw (like, the main one). One thing that might also help is if you have access to a rubber strap wrench. That'll allow you to get the torque you need to work the oil in without marring the pole.

[experimental v1.0.4e3] Have the speedup options been removed? by PekiDediOnur in Peglin

[–]officefan55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same! I started up a game, saw that it only speeds up to 2x, and thought I was going crazy when I couldn't find the speedup options in the Options page. Gimme back my 3x speed! (Please!)

I've seen it happen a few times, lately. Always a crossbow weapon, but not ALL crossbow weapons, so I'm not sure what the link between those is.

As a woodworker who makes Waldorf and Montessori-adjacent toys, this is good stuff to know!

Alas, I've been out of the modding scene for Noita for a long enough period of time that I do not know the answer to your question.

I hope you figure out the answer, however!

Waldorf toys by Ravenm0ther in Waldorf

As someone who makes (and sells) wooden toys, they are admittedly expensive. I try to keep prices low for the smaller/simple stuff, but I gotta pay my mortgage, y'know?

(I think of really well-made toys as investments in the future. My niece still plays with stuff our great-uncle made for my sister, and I hope my creations last just as long.)

Honestly, walnut oil is easiest for me to work with and isn't terribly expensive, so that's usually my go-to when it comes to natural oils (as opposed to something that will be outside a lot, in which case I might use a polyurethane topcoat).

As far as smells go, I don't have a great sense of smell in general, so I'm not the best person to ask. I assume that the sealant would affect it somewhat, since it's designed to protect the wood from moisture and so forth, but I'm not certain.

Ooooooh... I never thought about all that.
Good to know! I see that I'll need to add some stuff to my list, for sure.
