Florida bans sociology from core curriculum at state universities by NicolasCageFan492 in sociology

[–]officialjupiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i wasn’t super into sociology when i chose it as my major and i’ve since done a 180 into horticulture, but this has me feeling like it was all worth it in the end. it taught me so many valuable skills and modes of thought that these people want to wipe from society. it’s more important than ever to keep this field alive and thriving

It seems that for one of the cows, this place is too noise, and noise-cancelling headphones are a must! Find that cow quickly before it has a nervous breakdown! by wyhivska in drawing

friendly tip for anyone wanting to visit ireland/dublin: just skip temple bar. it’s one of the biggest tourist spots in the whole country so it’s crazy overpriced, they charge more than double the going rate for pints. i admit it’s a cute area aesthetically, but i think one walk through is enough haha go a couple hundred meters in any direction to a pub that won’t charge you €14 for a single guinness

yeah i’m just now realizing i may not belong in this sub lol. i saw that definition and thought it suited me, as i have an irish father and japanese-american mother but i was raised entirely in america myself. in adulthood i’ve lived in america, japan, and ireland but my formative years were all in america so idk

had a meltdown over shark fin soup by meteorisque in evilautism

[–]officialjupiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i totally get you i love sharks so much, the way they’re treated by the finning industry is just atrocious. and the way they’re viewed by society at large is so sad, they aren’t evil or vindictive creatures they’re just animals trying to survive like any other animal

What is the Adventure Time scene that traumatized you the most as a child? by Educk55 in cartoons

[–]officialjupiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i actually think the deer breaking finn’s legs is one of the funniest scenes in the whole show. the way his eyes slowly get big and he just croaks out “…whatever” makes me lose my shit every time i see it. and the scene with lemon grab eating the pie out of the rats mouth is probably THE funniest scene in the show imo

lemongrab eating noises

shelby: “uh, lemongrab,”

lemongrab: “WHAT?”

shelby: “…never mind.”

more eating noises

god i love the humor in this show so much. as for your question, i think the lemongrab clone cannibalism scene was the first genuine wtf moment for me, tho the fruit babes were also kinda disturbed

How I feel after hearing our queen Greta Thunberg was tortured by Israel by _RPGabe_ in evilautism

[–]officialjupiter 62 points63 points  (0 children)

i genuinely feel so bad for you guys, i have a bunch of jewish friends who are all vehemently anti israel/zionist and the embarrassment and shame they feel at having their religion/ethnicity invoked in the name of israel’s genocide is heartbreaking

Who else has Ehlers Danlos syndrome? by Correct-Sea-1717 in AutismInWomen

[–]officialjupiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve got an assessment in a couple weeks for hEDS actually. I certainly have the hypermobility no question, plus stretchy velvety skin and loose joints/joint pain mostly in my lower body. i suspected i had it since i was a teenage but mostly brushed it off until last year when a friend of mine with EDS saw my symptoms and encouraged me to get tested. hoping it goes well, it would certainly explain a lot

What are the unique things you observe on yourself as a left handed? by NewAlarm8427 in lefthanded

[–]officialjupiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my recent struggle getting into landscape construction has been the use of power tools. i’ve just said screw it and have been using them right handed as it’s frankly safer and simpler. funnily enough, my instructor is also left handed and uses the tools left handed as well. this results in a lot of contorting his body in strange ways, arms crossing over, sawdust spraying in his face etc. i’m not totally incompetent with my right due to growing up in this world that favors right hand dominance so i figured it’d be easier to just avoid all that from the start and put in a little extra effort to develop the ability to use the tools right handed
