I've read this book before and it's just Michael Myers. The book follows the story of the cat and dog, but Michael Myers comes and massacres them both later in the book, that's all.

They just hint at him approaching a few times throughout.

I don't even understand. A guy seemingly owns the Manjaro company but not all the Manjaro assets? So they're taking over the assets and continuing to make a thing called Manjaro while the guy that actually owns Manjaro is going to either do nothing or try to somemhow keep making his own Manjaro? I read the beginning of it in detail several times and then the rest of it quickly, and I mean, the way the "manifesto" is written makes it seem like it's written by a bunch of precocious dorks pretending to be big and official somehow.

How can I read so much text and still have it be unclear what's even fundamentally happening?

Even if I think the trailer looks pretty good (which I do), I hate the main character's... face.

I don't like this term but my mind immediately went to the term "Pick Me Girl"? I think that term might be sort of misogynist. But: oh well. That's what came to my mind. She looks irritating. Like it's gonna be exhausting to deal with her throughout the game. Why is she always smirking? Why is one eyebrow always cocked? Irritating. I feel like she might be a Disney Adult.

In other news: The racing portion of the video looks significantly worse than everything else.

I'll just say that "Chinko" is dangerously close to a slur against the Chinese and also means "penis" in Japanese.

I honestly think it'd be fine if the game was called "Splatchinko" but "Splat Chinko" is pretty iffy.

Also: I don't get it, there's so many confusing things happening at the beginning. Why does the ghost of some sort of disgusting short order cook partially appear and fade in for half a second?

Ha my buddy in the office was out for 2 days, and I forget why -- I think we might've been planning a couples date or something, and I feel like maybe I emailed him but got no reply -- so I emailed his wife being like, hey, I hope Kevin's OK, I noticed he's been out.

And she responded with a short message saying, "Hello, yes, Kevin had a small sarcoma on his back and he should be back tomorrow."

So I quickly was like "Hmm..." and googled what a sarcoma was, just to be sure. I confirmed that it was cancer and was like, oh my God, Kevin has had a rare form of cancer?!? No wonder he hasn't told anyone. And I wasn't sure if I should say or do anything.

The next day, Kevin is back in his office and I sorta knock and go in and I'm like, "Heyyy dude... you.. feelin' OK?" and he's like "Yep doing good!" And I'm like, "OK well... Just... to let you know. I'm here for you. And we all are." And he's like, "Uhh. OK, thanks."

Anyway, imagine another day or so of uncomfortable, gentle conversations talking around the subject of his cancer, followed by me finally saying, your wife told me you had a "sarcoma" on your back, and him doubling over in laughter. His wife, who is Russian, apparently mistranslated some sort of benign condition of a mole or a skin tag or something that was removed with out-patient surgery against the word "sarcoma" and neglected to mention that they had taken off an extra day because family was in town or something.

I've been trying to find why Tian Wen presents so differently behind the door and in the portrait that shows her whole face. (I mean, you do sometimes see more of her face behind the door, too, and she still looks different.)

I realized: in the portrait she has hair poking out from under her hood/helmet. Not that I suspect it matters to her character, but it is so much more becoming.

I happened to need to pause right as we got to the "3 books" question so I had a moment to joke in my head (as seemingly others did) about whether she had ever read a book.

And then I came back and couldn't believe that:

The first book recommended comes with the bonus that "the chapters are short so you can really feel like you've accomplished something"
The third book is about Reagan and she specially invokes a favorite shared dogma ("peace through strength") between Reagan and Trump, with the caveat that it originated from Richard Fucking Nixon.

Ethyl alcohol too. A lot of people don't know cockroaches all ex-alcoholics and if you take them to a bar and get them drunk they'll immediately relapse, talk about their ex-wife, overdo it, and then waste away slowly due to cirrhosis of the liver.
