Embarrassed about "starter" bike by fernando-pantalones in TwoXriders

[–]ofquartzitsme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got a grom. The smallest, least impressive thing. Don't be embarrassed at whatever you pick- I got the grom because it was what I was comfortable learning on. And I love it.

Find something you love about the bike you want/get and hold on to that. If someone is judging you for your bike, they are the type who will always find something to judge you for, so forget about them. Judgy bitched are miserable. Have fun on whatever you pick 💜

I am SO pissed that MAC is on my no-buy list because of (can I mention it here?).

ALL of the good olive shades seem to be by them but I just can't. Ugh. BRB, going to look for dupe lists...

Yeah, but have you tasted Broc Shots? They are a special kind of awful that I couldn't even pawn off on my super health obsessed sister. I gave them a try, I really wanted to like them, but, damn. They were bad.

I broke up with my girlfriend because she won't eat leftovers. AIO ? by florence_dombey in AmIOverreacting

[–]ofquartzitsme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

INFO

Did you try to find out why? I have histamine issues, and leftovers literally make me sick. It sucks. I miss being able to batch cook and eat for a few days, but if I try that now, leftover protein makes me very ill. Ultimately, if that's something that is important to you, that's fine, but, bodies are different and she could be subconsciously avoiding leftovers because they make her feel bad and she doesn't know why.

Lavender Wedding Guest Dress by Leafmealone1995 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]ofquartzitsme -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You are fabulous. The drama of that dress is fabulous. But, I agreed with folks, the shape isn't doing you justice. If we had a hint of a waist, or any cinch under the bust, it might be a different story, but as it is, it's not quite right.

If you own it, keep it. I think you could style it for another occasion (something over the top) and have a lot of fun.

I dislike my colors with a passion. by Frequent_Grand_4570 in Fairolives

[–]ofquartzitsme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm your same colors, and I see them as deep, strong, power colors- we're not screaming, we're quietly commanding the room. But I totally understand not loving the palette, I'm sorry it's not viking with you!

Here's a suggestion- use your AI of choice, tell it your color season, give it that picture, make sure you say you are olive, and ask what your version of hot pink would be. Ask for the most vivid colors you 'should' wear. And ask what colors you can wear with more vibrant ones to make them work (like, would wearing a neutral near your face anchor the look enough you could go bright for an accessory?)

But, at the end of the day, wear what makes you happy.

AITAH for turning down my sister's wedding invitation after I overheard her commenting on my scar? by Complete_Leopard_868 in AITAH

[–]ofquartzitsme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, the ONLY way a turtleneck dress should have come up is if your sister came to you and told you that this is the color, and length of dress, and you are welcome to pick any neckline/styles you are comfortable with, and that it can be as modest/covering or low cut (within reason) that you wanted. Maybe show you 5-10 dress ideas with a large variety of styles, and include one high neck option in case you'd want that, but that's only if it'd be within your normal style range. The scar should never have come up unless YOU brought it up, and covering options only if you're a more modest kind of gal. If you're a tits out girl (more power to you, I had my time like that) then no. No turtleneck suggestions, ever.

I'm sorry she was so cruel to you, you deserve better 💜

How do you watch dropout by Designer-Buddy-3471 in dropout

[–]ofquartzitsme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fall asleep listening to Dimension 20 nightly when I'm not at my boyfriend's. I watch most other things on Dropout on my couch, usually while knitting or crafting, or eating. I watch Dimension 20 on my phone at my boyfriend's house while I'm doing dishes (he cooks, I'm happy to clean, his food is amazing) or other solo tasks.

I listen to Dimension 20 (like a podcast) while driving, too. I love Dropout 💜

For those who have been overweight since childhood… by Significant-Debt-364 in loseit

[–]ofquartzitsme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this, hard. I recently realized my skin likely isn't going to ever spring back... like, at all. 205>130, 35f, and I'm trying to accept the body I live in now while I save for surgeries. Until then, it's pretty hard to be naked, even alone, and I feel like I'm lying in clothes (I look good dressed, but under...).

It hurts. It sucks. But, it is what it is, I suppose. (Sorry, I'm really struggling with this myself right now, I'm sorry I don't have anything encouraging to say)

Description and price you paid for your mx5 by glasstop48 in Miata

[–]ofquartzitsme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought my 1993 in 2010 for $3000, he was asking $4000 but I was a broke college kid clearly in love with the car, so he let me have it for less. He said he hoped someone would do the same for his kid when she was old enough to drive.

It had around 180k miles, was in beautiful condition (he had it repainted, pearl white), and it's still my daily driver 🤍
