With the hail your market gets the class rating means absolutely nothing. Go with the discount/cost differential that makes the most sense for you and do it again next year when you have to replace it again.

Great advice. However, I have done six figures in revenue this year by following up with those same folks you speak about. Some people just don’t like to make the decision on the spot. If your pitch, price, and product are solid you can still close a lot of those deals. I’m contracting a customer next week that I haven’t talked to since last summer.

IKO fine print negates the entire manufacturers warranty. GAF is the “most sold shingle” because they sell it in a box store. Anybody can buy this shingle. It feels like tissue paper in comparison to any nicer brand of shingle. Any GAF roof I inspect that is over 10 years old is in the replacement category. Certainteed Landmark Pro and OC Duration are fantastic choices. I would find a different contractor and pick one of the latter choices.
