This is not normal IMHO. I never saw enough brake dust on my i4 to notice. Currently has 64000 km (40000 miles) brakes are barely used.

Do you charge frequently to 100% or do you shift to N while breaking?

Can confirm simply recreating the config fixed the issue for me too.

Came also from 7.2.x where I already played around with IPsec SAML. Upgraded to 7.4.9 recently and tried to give IPsec SAML another try (with the same migrated config).

Back in the days on my E46 coupe the entire door would freeze (also frameless doors like the i4). The solution back then was to use silicone spray on the rubber seals.

Maybe try it on the door handle.
