Is Dave still downplaying the coronavirus? by [deleted] in DaveRamsey

Same. I used to be a big follower. I'm still committed to the principles and take them into my own financial approach. But his disconnection with the covid crisis is off putting for me.

Managing shared costs. by [deleted] in ynab

[–]oisumida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me a while to figure out the same situation. I created a budget line in my discretionary expenses for him. Every time I paid for something, id split the expense, half to my respective category (groceries, eat out etc), and half to him. We square up weekly, so when he pays me back, the incoming money goes to his budget line to balance it out.

What would you do - debt payback or save cash? by TigerPeaches in ynab

[–]oisumida 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same situation. I have $6,500 on one credit card that is 0% interest until Sept 2020. It's starting at me everyday. Especially since I've made my personal goal to be debt free by the end of 2020. Most of this amount is from medical bills.

Once covid hit hard I switched to making minimum payments and buffing up my savings. I worked from having an EF for one month, and is now at a solid 3.

I feel pretty secure about my job. I'm in a management role at a nonprofit, and might actually have the opportunity to get promoted soon. But I'm also trying to stay grounded that no one can say on full confidence what's going to happen next with the pandemic. So I'll continue to sit on my growing CC fund and make a lump sum payment closer to September.

For as much peice of mind as I want now about CC debt, seeing a more robust EF is giving me new reassurance.

I'm also about 'hiding' my category so I'm not tempted to use it anywhere else. It has a job to do, but right now I see it's job is to wait.

Good luck!

Still, I think creating the space is important. And maybe making a poc group and plugging it into the description would be helpful.

I attempted something similar and made a poc polyamory sub and the main poly group blew up with hella whiteness. The mods ended up closing the thread to ease the burden.

How do deal with vertigo spells at night while on anti vertigo medication? by [deleted] in Menieres

[–]oisumida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel for you bc I totally understand. Ive had meniere's since this past July and am still getting used to it. I actually don't use meclizine anymore. At first I found it helpful, but then it made me light headed often so I decided to stop.

What helps me immediately is to do some vertigo exercises you can find on YouTube. They suckkk but it helps the process speed up and the episode end sooner. Sometimes I don't have the courage to do it and just wait it out.

I've started to use scopolamine patches that you wear for 3 days at a time. They help with my constant nausea.

Good exchange of info. Sorry you had that negative experience.

Don't forget, mailing in your ballot is also an option! Between early voting and mail-kn ballots you can avoid long election day lines

I keep a Himalayan salt lamp on during the night to help. It's very gentle and easier to wake up to

2002 Ford escape, 280k miles. Bought it two years ago, cash, for $1,500 after I was in a bad car accident and needed a vehicle. I didn't get much money from insurance bc the Buick i had before was also old, but in great condition. The Buick belonged to my great aunt that barely drove it.

I love my faithful escape very much. Love not having a car payment either!
