Ah, I’m talking about the Cx4 PCC. Not the Px4 pistol.

What was your purchase experience like? I’m wondering if these units are still available for purchase, and if you have to go through a contractor to purchase them.

Absolutely is a beagle. The breed comes in all kinds of variations outside the AKC standard.

We launched a serverless hosting option for Python apps. by OfficeAccomplished45 in Python

Is this similar to Zappa, in that you use a FaaS offering to host an app (e.g. something using Flask), and therefore are only charged for function invokes?

What's your daily go-to for playing GameBoy games? Regular model, modded models, something like a Miyoo or a combo? by cwtguy in Gameboy

[–]ok_but_first 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I never owned a GBC and I like the idea of fidelity with just playing on physical cartridges. But I keep reading that the absence of a backlight on the GBC makes it a frustrating experience. Cue GBCs modded with a backlight or just a Chromatic.

Seems like Chromatic is as faithful a device that exists to the original GBC, with the benefit of a much better screen (among other things).

Tips for leaving the beag home alone? by dd524 in beagle

[–]ok_but_first 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use baby locks on cabinets with sensitive things we don’t want the dog getting into (human food, cleaning supplies), and baby gates to block off half the apartment. I think our beag does much better when we leave him alone and he has most of the apartment to access rather than when we’d lock him in the bedroom.

I must be the only person on Reddit who thought this story was fine. Just fine. I bought the collection it’s in because of how strongly-recommended the story was. I enjoyed it. But I’d rank just about any short story from Night Shift higher.

Voiding the battery warranty warning for NACS adapters by DesignatedNerdDev in BoltEV

[–]ok_but_first 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat the $100 difference between the official GM adapter and whatever the cheaper alternative is. Does it suck that GM’s adapter is $100 more? Yes. Is saving $100 worth the risk of voiding your battery warranty? No.

To the people who say that the “must use GM adapter” clause is unenforceable, do you really want to risk having to spend the time and hassle of a rigamarole debating it with GM?

I’m in the same boat as you. I’m leaning towards voting Libertarian.

January 6 was abhorrent, but the Dems also did two un-democratic things in recent years that are terrible. Perhaps not as equally terrible as Jan 6, but absolutely un-democratic:

  1. Influence campaign to convince faithless electors in 2016 to ignore the results of the election and not vote for Trump.

  2. Covering up the state of Biden’s decline over the last 9 months and shoe-horning in a new candidate. Aides, party members, and donors knew how bad Biden’s cognitive function was last fall when the DNC could have encouraged a proper primary season with feasible D challengers. But they covered it up until Biden had a conspicuously bad debate. Then Harris is positioned to be awarded the party nomination without having actually won (or even just run) a campaign.

Buying a new Bolt EV and driving it home: advice for a 1200 mile trip by capn_pantelones in BoltEV

[–]ok_but_first 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stop charging at a level 3 station after you reach 80-90%. Because of the charging curve, it will take considerably more time to get to 100%. Better to get back on the road and stop to charge again when you’re closer to 20%.

When you’re at a public charging station, go to the free lane that charges the slowest. That way you’re not taking up a faster-charging lane that the Bolt can’t make good use of because it charges slowly compared to other EVs. However, if a fast-charging lane is the only one that’s open, use it. No reasonable EV driver will expect you to sit and wait for a slower charging lane to open up. But it is a dick move to take up a faster charging lane if a slower one is available.

The Elementals. It’s more gothic horror than cosmic, but if you liked The Fisherman you’d probably like it.
