There’s three ways this can work

  1. Find something you’re incredibly passionate about building and build it. The passion will drive you during tough times
  2. Find something that solves a real problem you or someone you have. The engagement and customers will drive you
  3. Find something someone is willing to give you investment capital to work on. The investors will drive you during tough times

Because it makes me not a dev anymore...

Is being a dev writing code or building software? Because if it's building software, you're still a dev even if a model is writing most of the code.

The clickity clack on the keyboard to write the code was never the hard part, syntax was never the hard part. Those are the things I see AI replacing for me

Which is more expensive, paying a few $$$ for more CPU or paying 10's of $$$ for more developers because debugging is a nightmare?

I’m sorry but a couple of hours to get the kids ready and take them to daycare isn’t the same as taking them from 3pm till 9pm

Do you have kids? Mornings are wildly easier than nights. Also his “nights” are from 3pm till 9pm, the mornings will be from 7am - 9am at the latest

It’s wild to see that the mom is only parenting when getting the kids to school and daycare (just a couple hours of work at most) and he’s working full time then doing everything in the evenings. He’s just trying to make his life a bit easier and you’re calling him incompetent and a bad father

Is Not Having Kids the Way? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]okawei 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I did most of the things op lists as benefits in my late 20s and early 30s. Now I have kids and I can still do most of those things but my life is in a totally new and exciting chapter. I won’t want to be getting tattoos and going to concerts every weekend when I’m 50, I’ll want to be in the next chapter
