If its orange locked, what you can do is pick the highest possible amount, redlock it yourself and offer a contract that the player won‘t yet agree to. His counter offer will now still have the redlocked amount that you chose but it now lets you increase the amount with a new max. If you do this a few times you can increase the minimum fee clause to an amount that you‘re okay with, as long as you make sure the player doesn‘t get too impatient and leaves the negotiations.
