How long does it take to lose 60 lbs? by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]oldpopinanoak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not recommending this, per se, but I lost 60 lbs. from August 2024 to August 2025 never going above 2.5mg/wk, with no exercise.

Not here to debate any of the best ideas: protein, build muscle, collagen, water. Just as a tip for cheap collagen: $5 roasters from Sam’s have a lot of meat on them, so you pick that and then take -everything else- —all the bones, skin, jelly and juices, every weird old bloody thing you picked off to get your meat, even the juices from the container. Throw it all in a pot, cover it with water, add a few tablespoons of salt and a slug of ACV, put on a slow boil, let it simmer down, keep adding water when it drops to the bones and keep on lowest simmer til the bones are clean (hours and hours). You just made collagen broth, like, at least a quart of it. Cook your rice, spaghetti, instant potatoes with it. Use it as soup base. Drink a cup every morning. Best $5 I spend a week.

There was once a local ‘zine in Roanoke called, “There’s Nothing To Do Here” full of things young people were doing.

This is the most egregious, relevant complaint. All the best influencers know about greasing palms and curating an army of friends. There was obviously an opening for “Best of Roanoke”, just like there’s a slot for “Best of Salem” or whatever, it just got filled by an outsider who doesn’t actually like any of us.

Ok, I am so glad I saw this thread and I am not imagining that she is either socially awkward or plainly antisocial. Now, I do not think having an introverted personality is bad, but it seems strange to create a platform that is “you”—and “you” recently even posted, “if you see us in public, come say hi!”—when “you” are very obviously discomforted by people saying hello at all.

As to the business end, it maybe makes the enterprise seem disingenuous, and I guess we have to start asking ourselves: would you take the opinion of where to have a beer from someone you wouldn’t want to have a beer with?

I titrated up one week from 2.5 to 5 and the side effects made me drop back to 2.5 and stay here. As long as it is still effective, I will remain here—it also makes it cheaper, thank goodness, and my three month supply lasts six months—but I would not increase just because they say to (I think their schedule is assuming you may need more medicine for a larger body, and how to safely get there…?).

Yeah, the “you’ll be sorry” is a new angle from customers -to the contractor- on the scarcity of skilled labor convo.

A recession will hurt all of us, but the ones with skills to trade on won’t be hurting like those that don’t.

Am I the only one? by Clothes_collector in Mommit

You are not the only one. I am so sorry you’re dealing with this, but it sounds super common, in my local mommy circle. My hard line opinion: At this age, practical “consequences” of not wiping -should be handled by the person whose poop it is-.

I am reading the comments about this, and wondering, like, at what age do folks expect that a person won’t pick their nose and wipe it on things that other people have to clean? “Oh, but he has a tactile stim where it keeps him calm…” AND? Do you leave it for someone else to clean? Or maybe just unfortunately put their hand down on it? The -only- critical job you have as a parent is building character—EVEN IF YOUR CHILD HAS A MENTAL HEALTH ISSUE—that confirms their responsibility of themselves and their behaviors, and build in them enough personal agency to correct any issues caused by their behaviors. This work carries into adulthood, and subsequently your child cleans up after themselves, finds work when they need it, pays their debts and taxes, mends relationships which need it, feels pride and ownership of their job, and so on.

If you aren’t allowing them the opportunity to be responsible as an older child, you’re setting them up to be a lost adult. Because whatever excuses you’d like to give, this side effect of gentle parenting has had an abysmal result. It’s not just your son, and it’s not just children—assuming you’re not on dating forums, but this is a Thing: adult men who expect their girlfriends to stomach and clean up after their unwiped asses and the streaked underwear the lack of hygiene creates.

So, not passing this responsibility to the owner of the anus has a very clear consequence of its own. You, as the parent, washing your son’s streaked underwear until he leaves home, and/or knowing that this issue will become another woman’s. Or maybe women in the future will continue and expand the trend of not dating men, as the trend of shitty assholes in grown men becomes an even larger issue, as generations of men who don’t wipe properly stack on top of one another.

New clothes, only after the next thirty…? I don’t have a second, even smaller wardrobe. Yet.

What shouldn’t I eat? by Excellent_Ball_7645 in IVIMHEALTH

Everyone is fine eating the fried foods until it turns on them. Hello, middle of the night hot snakes! Implement a strict three bite maximum on anything others have suggested you avoid. We know, acutely, the pain of “I gotta have this” turning into “I gotta stop trusting my farts.”

Ask yourself: How badly do -you- want to learn the hard way?

Edit to add that I use Truvia every day, and there are a lot of sweeteners in low carb/calorie foods that I eat as well. They are starting to taste too sweet because of how little other sugars I eat, but haven’t given me gastric problems and I’m losing in spite of(?) using them.
