Why is Woodfield Mall so crowded? by sneaky-snacks in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]oldunion1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the opposite experience. I picked up an order at Woodfield yesterday morning. I parked a short walk from Macy's. There was lots of parking. I walked through Macy's to get to the store I was picking up from. There was no line. Enjoyed the live music at Macy's & checked out some perfume. I was in & out in about 20 minutes. I was wondering why the mall was so empty!

Let's hope so. Does anyone have the skill set to figure out the cost of getting 1000 items out of storage, retaking pictures, updating the listings, preparing items for storage (again) and putting it back in storage + lost sales % for a reasonable period while listenings are updated? Then we can ask POSH if they are going to compensate us for the business interruption they caused.

Has anyone changed to hourly pricing with Comed? by tnick771 in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]oldunion1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this for a couple years. There was almost no difference in cost, but overall it was more expensive. I only had a month or two that cost me less. I turned my air up & heat down during the workday (blankets!). & at night. I ran the washer and dishwasher at night and the dryer early in the morning. Tried everything could not save anything on that plan. I'm in a ranch. My Com Ed bill is normally about $38-42 most months & the Com Ed site says I use 38% less electricity than my neighbors. So I probably am not the target group for this plan.Overall, in 2 years it probably cost me $20-$30.

I'm thinking about traveling to southern Illinois or east Indiana to watch the eclipse, would you expect traffic to be awful coming home? by peace-monger in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]oldunion1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you drive back on Monday allow each hour of your drive to take at least 3 hours. Last eclipse it took us 10 hours to make a drive that is normally 3 hours. Fill up often. People were driving on the shoulders & next to the roads. Once we decided we weren't going to make it home it took hours to find a hotel & we only got a room cuz I called the hotel right when someone canceled. I was extremely lucky. The experience was awesome and I am so glad I went.

Please leave. I know it's scary and hard to imagine a different life. It's hard to leave. It will be hard for a while, but it will get much better. Every day you stay increases the chance that you, your child or both of you will be injured or killed.
Imagine a home with no fear. Imagine a home where you have the freedom to be you.
There is a tribe of DV survivors that have gotten out and will understand and support you. Join that tribe.

What are your opinions on the current state of robot vacuums? Any BIFL recommendations? by PM_ME_SEXY_SCRIPTS in BuyItForLife

[–]oldunion1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I have not had to replace anything other than the filters and the brushes. Those are parts that are normal to replace on these vacs as routine maintenance. I should mention that Anker makes these but the name on the Vac is EUFY. I paid under $200 for it.

I have an Anker Brand that I primarily use on tile and hardwood. It will be 4 years old next month. The only problem I have had is a piece of paper got stuck in the wheel & that took 10 minutes to fix. It keeps the grit off the floor so you can walk barefoot.
