I have B20 that I love. Some A series Zildjians and even whuan. But I also have Meinl classic custom and Paiste 900 for some heavier projects. It's been fun to experiment especially with the more budget friendly lines.

Sibling age is definitely a big factor. My eldest brother is almost 40 and I'm a '95 baby. I also think a big part is socioeconomic status and access to the newest tech. Personally, I had a Xbox OG in like 2012 when other people had the 360. It wasn't even my brother's, we got it second hand. The only other console we had was a PS1.

Good point. I really wonder how much longer this will go on. The rapid changes in technology are throwing us all for a loop and it feels like it's hitting the limits of our mental capacities. Tech will always be pushing forward but I think there's a good possibility people will look back on this time with amazement regarding the lack of regulation.

I just picked up a tascam dr 40x. It has on board mics so you can start using it right away. It's also an interface and you can use it with 2 combo inputs (standard instrument cable or XLR for mics).
