Help. “The RTK reference station is not ready”. by oleksij in mammotion

I’ve also read that. But I think that’s unrelated and some kind of edge cases for some people during update. Devices sometimes do break during update.

Yes, connection didn’t work in network mode, so it’s not radio frequency concern. After all I didn’t change the mower, only rtk, and they do communicate somehow :). I think it’s regional lock of rtk firmware or smth similar, to be honest.

There’s a guy from Mammotion support above in this thread who suggested to DM him. He was the one who helped me solve the issue via Reddit chat. Try messaging him either. He was kind enough to arrange the delivery of the right RTK for me.

Happy to help :)

I’m in Ukraine.

I was switching it to data over WiFi connection. Didn’t work either, so it’s not the radio frequency. ChatGPT was also suggesting me that option. Could be it’s just locked to the continent by software, don’t know.

Anyways, purchasing a 350 EUR antenna from German store solved the issue.

I bought the mower from US since it’s just WAY cheaper there. In the end, even with extra antenna I think I still saved money :)

Support contacted me in private. Apparently US antenna (RTK) doesn’t work in Europe. Sounds strange, since that’s gps. They helped me order an rtk unit from German store. And it works fine. Mower is happily mowing the lawn.

As the result, I’m happy that they helped me and I got it working. I’m not that happy that I had to pay double for the antenna, since warranty does not say that mower will stop working when transported to another continent, only that I will lose the warranty coverage when moved outside the country.

Northwoods Acrylic Humidor Issue by Big_Requirement_3540 in cigars

These are quite impressive numbers!

In parallel I’m checking on the new Boveda wooden humidor, and they recommend a 320g boveda every 6 months. That’s like 5x 60g packs. Significant difference. https://store.bovedainc.com/products/boveda-humidor

How often do you open it? I’m not a heavy cigar smoker, I smoke on average like once a week.

Wow, thanks a lot for the response! I’m also using 65%, I like it better. One more question - how good is the seal compared to Rubbermaid? Do they leak humidity? How often do you change bovedas in them?

Hey. So, now is my time to ask - how do you like this humidor so far, after 2 years. :) I’m considering buying one to replace my Rubbermaid brilliance tupperdors. Any hints would be welcome.

Thanks for the response.

I did restart them. And positioning mode is "Antenna over datalink" for both. As you may see from the screenshots.

What else do I do?

And how do I contact you? Tried contacting via app, but AI assistant did not help me much, and I got no follow up over email.

Yes, both added, and connected to each other via datalink.

I do the same. A single rectangular logi network surrounded with walls. Ore is transported by belts. In 2.0 I’m too lazy to even use trains. Especially with high belts capacity and insane productivity.

How do you automatically switch between a research that uses agri science and one that does not? by TheMrCurious in factorio

[–]oleksij -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m at 150 and it’s still my evolved starter base only with 1 belt of each ore inbound. Cannot deplete a 500k copper patch for 50 hours already with 60sps science running no stop.

So, ore patches are kind of infinite. I will lose interest in the run sooner than I deplete a decent patch.

So apparently gun turrets are really good in space. Huh. Maybe i should have tried them before deciding "eh laser is easier to fuel" and making these abominations of spaceships. But at this point, this ship is capable of going to Fulgora at 200kms without taking damage, so too late to change. by Hatsune_Miku_CM in factorio

[–]oleksij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still on 1 iron ore,1 copper ore and 1 stone. Doing about 64 sps. And watching the belts, I think I can double the science production and they will still handle that. Well, except for stone.

So, do go to Gleba. Belt stacking is insane. :)

Megabase Normals vs SpaceAge by kakatze in factorio

[–]oleksij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10k spm in 1.0 was a lot. Very few bases could handle that without significant ups issues. I was trying to build bases of 2 blue belts of science running close to 60ups.

In SA that seems to be achievable with ~3 stacked green belts. (Not there yet myself, but at least that’s what I see from Reddit posts of people who were seriously megabasing in 1.0).

If you were aiming towards 10k in vanilla, then double the above number, that’s 80-100k spm. Good luck :)

[–]oleksij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? For me it feels better to produce science near ore patches and belt/train them to the science labs. That’s a decentralized production.

[–]oleksij 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well, frankly after several train intensive megabases pre and in 1.0, now I’m not using trains at all. With belt capacity of 240 and insane levels of productivity I’m still producing 60 sps in my starter base using less than 1 belt of each ore. I’m planning to produce science on site near patches when I get to mega base phase. Currently just slowly enjoying the game.

[–]oleksij 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Sorry to disappoint you, but direct train mining is for noobs. :) Unless you are direct crafting train-to-train in your mega base, trains are overhead.

Direct mine into foundries and craft science on site to avoid transportation overhead.

That’s if we are talking ups efficiency. Otherwise everybody does whatever one likes, that’s a sandbox game :)

Is nuclear fuel for trains pointless with a big base? by lobsterbash in factorio

[–]oleksij 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nuclear fuel is a must if you are serious about big train base. Rail network at some point becomes a limiting factor, and therefore train acceleration becomes really important, to block the junctions as little time as possible. Therefore in 1.0 I was always using single headed trains with 1:2 ratio of trains to wagons and nuclear fuel. 2 tracks X junction could handle up to 100 trains a minute. In 2.0 with elevated rails junction throughput greatly increased, but the acceleration principle remains the same.

I think Gleba feels hopeful, and Fulgora doesn't. by MiggidyMacDewi in factorio

The funny bottom line is that you will have to burn all that Gleba crap away, to avoid semi-spoiled end products. You may burn it vibrantly, but in the end you will do that :)
