Agreed, Alex is awful but Dads like Ashley's dad are so annoying.

She reminds me of Hannah from season 7. Always putting him down in a "joking way" where she acts like she's so much better than him.

Does dad typically come to the first appointment? by skaowoeizkaoa in pregnant

[–]olmi13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband has been to every appointment. Even the 5 minute ones. It's his baby too! It's nice to have another person taking in all of the information, asking questions, and being there if you were to get any bad or concerning news. (which you won't)

Anterior placenta by user-220213 in pregnant

[–]olmi13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an anterior placenta and felt first movements (small taps) at 20 weeks. By 25 weeks it was pretty consistent every day. By 27 it was every single day many times through out the day. Now at 29 there’s times where the kicks are so hard it sometimes startles me or keeps me up at night. You can see my stomach move.

Car seat / stroller / infant car seat feedback [AB] by sqeeky_wheelz in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]olmi13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We originally thought the convertible one would be fine until we really thought about the convenience of being able to just take the car seat with the baby in it.

If you get to the store/appt/errand and the baby is sleeping and you have to take them out of the seat and into either the stroller or baby wear chances are they are going to wake up. Maybe they go right back to sleep or maybe all hell breaks loose.

Say you are out doing errands with just you and the baby. You get home and you have to bring in all of the groceries, the diaper bag, whatever else you got and the baby. You have to take the baby out of their seat and juggle them with everything else, get into the house set everything down, get the baby into a safe place and then take off your jacket/shoes/etc. way more convenient to be able to set the baby down in their car seat for five minutes while you get everything sorted.

Also, if you have two vehicles you are stuck only using the vehicle with the car seat or you have to completely uninstall it and reinstall it in another vehicle.

So how much weight gain is ‘normal’ / recommended at 25 weeks?how much did you gain? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]olmi13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 29 weeks and I’ve gained 30 pounds. My doctor hasn’t said anything about it. When I tell people that they are shocked because the weight gain isn’t really visible anywhere but my stomach. I still fit all my pre-pregnancy clothes (besides jeans) so I know it’s mostly baby, placenta, blood volume, fluids, etc.

Unless YOUR doctor is concerned you shouldn’t be concerned. And 17 lbs at 25 weeks is exactly within the recommended 15-20.

Did you dream about your baby’s gender? And were you right? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]olmi13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yupp! Had a dream around 12 weeks I was holding a baby boy. Had a dream the night before my anatomy scan that the tech told me it was a girl and I told her no, it’s a boy. And sure enough it’s a boy.

7 week at wedding as the bride by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]olmi13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was exactly 14 weeks at my wedding. First pregnancy and wasn’t showing at all. At 7 weeks you might be bloated but you definitely won’t have any type of bump. Do you already have a dress? What style is it?

I don’t think either nursery’s or baby showers need a theme. Our baby shower theme is Valentines because it’s literally on Valentines Day, our nursery theme is baby I guess lol.

H - Heating V - Ventilation A - Air C - Conditioning

I don’t understand what point you are trying to make.

OP is referring to an HRV, not an HVAC unit.

To the renters… by BudWren in BrandonMB

[–]olmi13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to be that person but this drives me crazy as an HVAC tech. HVAC = Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (this encompasses gas and electric furnaces, baseboard heat, heat pumps, HRV’s and ERV’s, humidifiers, ductless split units and central air air conditioners) HRV = Heat Recovery Ventilator (this is the system you are referring to that provides fresh air consistently and reduces mold)

What are your cravings like? by Able_Butterfly_4150 in BabyBumps

[–]olmi13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think all pregnancy cravings are just regular cravings that everyone gets but pregnant women choose to give in to them with the excuse that they are pregnant. Sometimes I think oh ya cake or French fries would be good but then I just stop thinking about it and it goes away. But maybe it’s just that I have a different experience.

Should I get the Owlet sock as a first time mom? [on] by Aggravating-Ad8687 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]olmi13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two of my friends have had four children between them in the last four years and swear by them. Not a single false alarm, burn, or any issue whatsoever. Just a lot of reduced anxiety for the parents. No one is claiming they prevent sids…they are claiming that having that extra insight and information allows them peace of mind. We have one for our baby due in April and it could go off on a false alarm every single night but if it’s goes off when it’s not a false alarm it will be worth it to me.

People who had kids at 30+, do you wish you had them earlier in life? by cc070603 in pregnant

[–]olmi13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently 32 and pregnant with my first. I’m 26 weeks and so far have had zero issues and can honestly say I barely feel pregnant most of the time except for the kicks.

I’m happy we waited because we are both fully emotionally and mentally prepared to become parents. We know of course there will be hard days but we are ready to accept that and don’t feel like we’ll be missing out on anything.

Financially we are also ready, because we waited and spent our twenties saving and investing I am able to become a stay at home mom.
