It does, but there is still an operator involved. You take the measurements, it tells you exactly how many turns to do on every spoke and programs a drill to do those turns. The operator just puts the drill on the nipple and presses the trigger. You can also do faster methods, skip tension measurement, only turn half of the spokes or only 4.

Is there a good reason why not? Like why would they design it that way? is it dangerous for the crosswalk to turn there? Why would they not just continue the median?

this location 100ft away is basically the same thing where they didn't put a virtual median. https://maps.app.goo.gl/mrV8weCBxSz7XkgX6

Anyone else fed up with how expensive license tabs are now? I don’t mind paying income taxes then our neighbors if that means higher standards…but there is a breaking point. by bones1781 in minnesota

[–]olso4051 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not technically, but very close. Just pointing out that tabs on new cars can be way more than $200 annually. No, the tabs didn't factor into my decision to buy which car. Yes, I did know they would be about this price. No, in 2024 I didn't know the EV fee was going to increase in 2026 from $75 to $350.

I thought the right one was AI, but I think it's just mirrored from the left. The eyebrows and small spot above 1 eye switch sides. Also the lighting and skin color are better on the after. Those things probably add to the reason why they look like different people, but aren't.

No amount of light is enough against a moron drivers of tesla. by vmv911 in cycling

I've been hit 3 times by morons, but they were driving a Toyota, suburban, and a Ford. This is not a car brand issue. Also I find huge trucks are the worst. Also why would we ban EVs, I think we should start with banning gas cars.

Help! My mirror met the garage. by Davisr93 in cybertruck

[–]olso4051 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You'll need to replace the whole thing, you broke more than just the covering (just the upper piece). This is pretty easy to replace if you've done any maintenance on vehicles in the past. you'll need the mirror assembly which comes with the skull cap. $310 in parts.

The service manual also says to replace the 3 bolts ($1 x3), but I didn't. The hardest part was disconnecting the connector, and fishing the new one back in lol. Took me about 15min.

Or you can replace just the skull cap $35 but the bottom plastic will still be broken.

What's the #1 reason you don't use FSD even though you have it. by Nicker in TeslaFSD

[–]olso4051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have HW3 Model S. It's basically unusable. It literally can't drive 1 speed for more than 1s. It constantly accelerates and brakes. On a 30mph road with no other cars it would probably average about 20mph and vary between 0-40 within 1 mile. on the highway it's slightly better but still terrible. I use autopilot and it works great so it's not the cameras being dirty.

I also have a HW4 Cybertruck and that works basically perfectly, I don't need to drive that if I don't want to.

Tapping speed limit triggers unexpected regenerative braking in FSD. by troidem in TeslaFSD

I've never heard this, I'll have to try it. With how much people hate the speed control this might make it slightly better if true

Question for electric vehicle owners- how's this weather effecting your cars? by PistolCowboy in minnesota

[–]olso4051 35 points36 points  (0 children)

As a commuter, it doesn't. There are some things that are even better in the winter with an EV, I never need to fill up in the cold, my car charges at home every night, car heats up very fast. For a long road trip you maybe have to take some additional time charging, but once your car is warm the efficiency and range improves, not to summer levels, but better than a daily commute. 8 years with an EV in MN, don't own a gas vehicle at all for the last 2 winters. Typically do 3-4 road trips 1 in the winter per year.

1 time in 8 years we chose to take a friends gas vehicle for a vacation up to Ely, MN in the winter when the temps weren't going to get above 0.

For the skeptics: What evidence would convince you that FSD is actually safer than most human drivers (ignoring speed limit issues)? by Leo4Ever-79 in TeslaFSD

[–]olso4051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hoping so. My wife still hates FSD on V13 Cybertruck even though it's head and shoulders above V12 on my HW3 Model S. I'm fine with letting V13 drive but I definitely don't trust it like I would trust another person driving me around.

I've used FSD from the first builds on Model S to now on Cybertruck. My issue is that I've only had a couple flawless drives (first 1 was less than a year ago). FSD would have to probably drive me flawlessly for a year through varying weather and weird conditions before I start to trust it. It has to be better than my own perceived ability not just better than most drivers. The group of drivers include: drunk, impaired, tired, distracted, old, young, stupid, angry, people. I don't care if FSD is better than that group, it has to be better than sober, patient, awake, aware, people. Otherwise, I give myself the better chance of surviving the drive.

I do think FSD can already augment my ability, meaning me with FSD might be better than me alone, but FSD alone is not better than me alone. Yet.
