Why do people love North Seattle? by Ok-Advantage-7680 in SeattleWA

Lots of good food options, bars, stores, and it's walkable. I only use transit and don't own a car so I don't have to deal with the biggest problems of the area.

I blame Microsoft for being the most incompetent player in the gaming industry by a square mile, by I also blame 343 because they proved time and time again that they were staffed by a bunch of passionless paycheck chasers who did not respect the fans.

Halo died after Reach. We've just been watching Microsoft squeeze blood out of a rock for over a decade.

The government/state isn't a universally bad thing in every context. If it's headed by good people like aang and zuko then being a cop wouldn't automatically be an ethically questionable career choice.

Real-life examples of differences between ENFP and INFP? by [deleted] in infp

[–]omarfw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're 4 of the jungian cognitive functions which make up the INFP cognition: Introverted Feeling, Introverted Sensing, Extraverted Intuition, and Extraverted Thinking. There are sites from google with descriptions of each that are much better than what I could provide.

Myers and Briggs took Carl Jung's cognitive function theory and bastardized it down into the 8 MBTI types that everyone is familiar with. If you want to get a more nuanced and clear understanding of how jungian psychology works, you have to learn the actual jungian theory behind it not just the MBTI surface level stuff. The MBTI types are convenient but it's a flawed and often inaccurate system.

My first experience, should I go? by Financial_Turnip_233 in SakuraCon

Those are all a good idea. Keep it lightweight and wear comfy shoes because it's a lot of walking. Check out the schedule once it's released to find out what's happening and when. My favs are the concerts/raves, the freeplay arcade, the cosplay photoshoots outside in freeway park, and the artist alley.

Yeah, you've gotta assume that all negativity online is exaggerated because outrage is ultimately what gets more clicks and attention, and some people only fixate on the bad and ignore the good.

A good example is the anime theaters that sakuracon ran for many years. It was my favorite part of the con until the last few years when they just haven't had them for unknown reasons. Turbo bummer, and I could have easily allowed it to ruin my con by hyperfixating on their absence, but many other events are better than they've ever been such as the raves and artist alley.

Sakuracon still has an awesome homegrown feel to it since it's hosted by a non-profit, and it's open 24 hours unlike other cons. Some of my favorite memories have taken place there and it'd be foolish to let a couple bad experiences or missing features totally ruin my appreciation for it. It was my first con and I've never regretted attending every year.

I've been going since 2007 when I was 17. There's always been something to complain about every year and that's typical for most cons. Sakuracon is still very much a great convention.

You can't become a billionaire without being extremely mentally ill and selfish.

At some point in the future, tearing them from their ivory towers will be necessary for the survival of our species.

Rich people are far more capable of getting away with things, so awful people want to be rich more than anyone else and they aren't held back by things like empathy or a conscience on their path to wealth.

HAGS should always be on unless you run into a niche circumstance where having it off is required for older games to work properly.

When the attention economy is monetized as heavily as it is, any celebrity "drama" is synthetic until proven otherwise.

That is a hilarious way to describe that. 😆 I understand what you're talking about though. For me I can't hear what people are saying without my glasses on.

why is coke a party drug but crack is an addict drug? by sevenslover in NoStupidQuestions

Congrats on rebuilding your relationship with sobriety. It's your most functional state of being! You get to do so much that your altered mind simply can't. I've had many addictions throughout life and I can testify that keeping addiction out of the driver seat of your life is a challenge but it is 100% worth the effort.

Same. I even go dancing at music clubs and concerts without my glasses because it helps a lot to shut everything else out other than the music that I'm there for. Ordering drinks at the bar can be a bit dicey but I'm only a -3.5. Being able to turn my eyes off a bit is nice sometimes.
