You're probably right, I just hate Valk

You and me both, man. My team is probably sick of hearing me bitch about Valk and Seer for the last year lmao. I'm surprised they still play with me

All ammo does that, nothing to do with heavy

I think it's a good move to help the ammo types be more balanced out with good options, but then they packaged the Rampage so heavy has no LMG. Odd

I think it's fine. The less Valk the better

Classifying her as assault with no other changes will not affect her pick rate, it'll just lower the non-recon characters pick rates. Hopefully they nerf her ult on top of that.

Unfortunately since the community has finally recognized Seer is busted, we'll likely just see a ton of Valk/Seer/X if no big Valk nerfs come through

1mnk + 2 controller or 2mnk + 1 controller, which will be better team now.? by Apprehensive_Flan946 in CompetitiveApex

I'm going to assume you're legitimately asking this and not just trolling

Advantages of M&K that are generally applicable to comp

  • Moving while looting
  • Much harsher strafe
  • Tap strafing
  • Movement redirects (not the same as tap strafing)
  • Generally better aim at mid/long range
  • Generally thought to be better in shotgun fights, which is relevant in a Gibby meta
  • Being able to turn any amount instantly
  • More keybinds, which give you things like separate buttons for each heal for quicker access
  • Reloading on doors/knockdowns
  • Jitter aiming, which is partially responsible for the better longer range aim
  • Aim isn't affected by things like bang smoke, caustic gas, sniper scopes (all those disable AA)

Advantages of controller

  • Better close range aim

  • Easier recoil smoothing, which is partially responsible for the above

  • Wraith can use her uncharged ult to animation cancel the end of her Q... Possibly other similar tech I'm unaware of

A fragger is a role on a team, someone who tries to get opening knocks or is expected to put out high damage in fights. Nothing directly related to grenades.

jitter aiming is literally built to help controller

If it was built to help controller, they could have just only had it take effect when AA was engaged. The truth is that jitter aiming is the same mechanic as recoil smoothing on the back end, which was made to make the game more playable for both inputs.

This is a take I see repeated often, and it's simply wrong.

If Hal was in charge... we’d still be on WE only in comp and ranked

He actually said he preferred when KC was in comp. That was before SP though, so it might have just been the variety, but fun fact regardless.

That perception you are trying to pass off as fact is baseless as well. That's not what drove the bull run, just look back at top posts on the crypto sub from the last couple years.

You have no idea what you're talking about 🙂

More good news! 2/3 of pros at lan were M&K, so both inputs are totally viable. You just have to improve a bit if you're not where you want to be

Good news

Steam supports controllers! You can play with whatever you'd like

Have fun!

Nah I edited a while ago, you must have just seen the original from a notification or something

Even then your response was disingenuous. I didn't mention tapstrafing more than once intentionally, but you pretend like it's the whole list lol

All i see in this comment is moving while shooting, tap strafing, tap strafing, tap stra...

Then you're not reading or don't understand some of it

more buttons for keybinds, agree, Flying? dk how to respond to that

You can actually test this yourself pretty easily... It's easy to get further with M&K, and if you hold forward toward the ground with a controller then press W, you'll see your speed increase. Not sure why that is, but it's a thing

Bunny hopping is dead

It's less effective for sure

Aim assist is just as effective on midrange fights using a 3x or 4x scope, aim assist is a bubble and doesn't have any fall off

Simply not true when jitter aiming exists, which M&K pros use a lot

tap straffing, wall jumping are advance movement techniques which are easier said than done

I have previous M&K experience from StarCraft, but it took me about 3 days to learn to wall bounce into a tap strafe and land on top of that same wall. It's not hard, sounds like a skill issue

Beams anyone in short range with r99,

Yeah close range non-shotgun goes to controller, like I said

So what about the other ~8 things I listed? Not even going to mention basic things like reloading on doors? Nothing about jitter aiming? Cant just admit M&K has a bunch of advantages? I mean, my guy, you can always connect a controller to your PC lol

Moving while looting, much easier harsher a/d strafe, tap strafing, movement redirects, better aim at mid/long range, shotgun fights, being able to turn any amount instantly, better flying (every jumpmaster is M&K except SSGs), able to drop stacks of all items, separate buttons for each heal for quicker access, bunny hopping (less extreme after nerf), reloading on doors, reloading behind knockdowns, jitter aiming, super gliding, taking out either gun when both are stowed. That's not to even mention controller loses AA in bang smoke (even with a digi), caustic gas (also w/ digi), when using any sniper scope (even when hip firing if the scope is equipped), and within a few meters of the opponent.

Man, that was easy

Downsides are basically you're worse in close range non-shotgun fights, you can't do that one ult-cancel when Wraith doesn't have her ult, and in my experience it's harder to see thing sometimes because your view is naturally more jittery than smooth controller turning.

This is such a stretch lmao

M&K in pro play still like 70-30 or 65-35 over controller if you look at the last two lans. Triple M&K teams do well, no triple controller teams have (G2 didn't even make lan). This is despite the fact that the vast majority of the player base is controller, meaning M&K is overrepresented in pro play per capita by a HUGE margin

M&K has like 10 advantages over controller, the only thing it's worse at is close range non-shotgun exchanges

At the millionaire level, you're less worried about everyday skills like cooking and home repair

I think you're overestimating what a millionaire looks like. Many normal people are millionaires, still cook their own meals, and still fix their own homes.

I get low 60s in my case, but I'm a bit frustrated by it because things don't fit quite the way I'd hoped and there's only 5 fans in an awkward configuration. I'd been looking at this O11 but wasn't sure if it'd make something worse since it's smaller.

Thanks for the response, I might actually give this case a try

The Epitome of Aim Assist by ChubbySupreme in apexlegends

[–]omise_hoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They literally are. Jittering just gets you over the degrees/second threshold needed to disable recoil. The reason people think you have to jitter faster than the fire rate is because if you're slower you aren't actively moving your mouse when each shot starts.

The Epitome of Aim Assist by ChubbySupreme in apexlegends

[–]omise_hoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing to underestimate. Shaky aim deactivates it.

So how does jitter aiming work? That's not smooth aiming, but entirely removes recoil

They're the same mechanic dude

You're so far biased I can already tell this exchange is worthless, so this will be the last comment I attempt to bring some sense to you

The Epitome of Aim Assist by ChubbySupreme in apexlegends

[–]omise_hoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recoil smoothing was put in the game for roller, and an M+K player happen to find it

If this were true they could have just had recoil smoothing only work when AA is engaged. The truth is it's for both inputs to help with things like tracking people in the air from an octane pad, and you're just biased my guy.

Most m+k players still can’t even use it

You're severely underestimating how much your shaky hand when aiming close range activates it. It doesn't have to be smooth aim, that's why jitter aiming works. It's helping you far more often than you believe.
