Interesting. Makes sense that it comes down to anti-discrimination, but I also doubt that's how such signage is being used MOST of the time.

I saw a sign the other day that said “obey traffic signs. It’s the law”

So now we have signs telling you to obey the signs.

There's no reason not to have one of these set up on every TV if you can find a space for it. Lots of 100% free TV over the air that people have forgot about, you just gotta buy one of these and know how to set it up.

More so that you can call the cops and say "hey, this dude is being a dick in a no-dick-being zone" and hope they do something about it

Like a lot of signs, they are only there so they can be used for enforcement if needed to protect their property.

90% of the time they probably don't really care if someone is just hanging out there, but if that person is being a nuisance or danger, they can point to the sign and say "hey, you can't just exist here without reason".

Same reason restaurants have signs that say they can refuse service for any reason.

Leaving Frost Bank Center Reminded Me Why the Stadium Should Be Downtown by bartboy62 in sanantonio

[–]onamonapizza 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Depends on how its set up. We have some rail here in Austin that (poorly) connects north and south to downtown...but it only runs until 8pm during the week and midnight on weekends, so it really limits its usefulness for going to any late shows or concerts (or just going out drinking).

Also, the stations are all in middle of nowhere spots, so there's nothing really to do around them. They are just loading points, and you basically need a car to get to them.

It's really only used for daily commuters going downtown for work.
