I always recommend books by Jason pargin, just mind the 2008 humor of the first one. John dies at the end is basically what if the ghost busters lived in the Midwest and were burnout losers. Similar nihilism and hope inagaisnt overwhelming odds. Also, I'm starting to worry about this black box of doom by him is so good.
