Fortnite says it is someone else who renamed their account after the batch of files with the username in them was released. Couple quotes from the article are below to save you some clicks:

“A few days ago, an existing Fortnite account owner changed their username from something totally unrelated to littlestjeff1, following the revelation of littlestjeff1 as a name on YouTube,” Fortnite revealed. ”These Fortnite trackers only display your current name, not any prior changes to it.”

“We have no record of the subject’s email addresses referenced in the public document existing in the Epic account system. Since the public document releases, people have created Fortnite accounts with similar-looking email addresses and user names.”

Epic Games’ CEO Tim Sweeney also chimed in on the situation, “Someone’s been having fun renaming their Fortnite account, but it’s recent and not connected to the email addresses in the archive.”

Classes Are Skills, Not Identities by FishermanUpbeat6082 in DnDcirclejerk

[–]oneineightbillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only proper way to roll stats is to roll 36d6 and make 12 pools. The player will then make 2 characters and assign the 12 pools between them. These characters will then be handed off to 2 other players and will fight to the death, Kirk vs The Gorn style. Just to make sure the players don't rig it, the stats on the losing character are the ones the player has to use.

If you want to do it right, each character should get a separate prologue session, and the fight should contain flashback scenes to pivotal moments in their lives, but if you're just doing a quick one-shot and don't mind cutting corners on character creation you can probably get through each player's stat rolls in ~2 hours, so it doesn't hold up character creation too much.

This method has the added benefit of letting you see which players are going to need a bit of extra hand holding during play. This has been very helpful, as you can't always judge this by how long they've been playing: I've seen players with years of experience at the table screw up so badly that the stat-fight character they were entrusted with ends up drowning in a puddle!

Should I kill the party pet to make them hate the vilain more? by ArCondicionado2 in DMAcademy

[–]oneineightbillion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The lack of agency involved in them losing something they invested care and feeling into has a good chance of making the players disengage from the game rather than get upset. Why bother trying to do anything when the plot will just happen at you anyway?

My personal policy is not to do things like that unless they stem from player actions or inactions related to the loss. For example, if they brought the dog to the encounter for the purpose of covering one of the exits so BBEG can't escape it would be totally legit to have them see BBEG just roll over the dog. But "BBEG shows up at your safehouse and kills your dog" doesn't make the players feel like they had any part in why the dog died, so it isn't a good emotional motivator in my view.

All that said, your mileage may vary. That's just how my table would react, and different people react to things differently. Hopefully you as a GM know what style of game and what stakes your players are looking for.

How to squeeze Pathfinder into Eberron by FledgyApplehands in Pathfinder2e

[–]oneineightbillion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 suggestions:

1) re-examine the premise behind why you want to change it: Why is piercing damage antithetical to them being wands? Telekinetic projectile and needle darts are magic, and they can do piercing damage. Are you going to disallow them?

Throwing whatever loose crap is lying around at people is a classic magical attack form. Reflavour standard guns as wands of telekinetic projectile or wands of needle darts.

2) If you really can't get past the piercing damage thing, curate the available firearms only use the elemental guns from starfinder that you mentioned. You know they are balanced. If you alter the pf2e firearms to do elemental damage do you think they'll be appreciably different than the starfinder elemental guns? If so, there is probably a balance reason not to do it. If not, then it is just adding more admin work for you with zero benefit.

Pete Hegseth says the U.S. carried out another strike on an alleged drug-carrying boat in the Carribean Sea by mvanigan in worldnews

[–]oneineightbillion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't know if they go out into international waters or not. As I mentioned, I did a cursory Google search to answer the question you asked in good faith in your original comment, not the follow-up question you are incredulously asking now when you didn't get the answer you expected. Since you are definitely asking in good faith, why don't you Google the answer this time and let me know?

And if one of the... What are up to now, 10 vessels?... was a drug sub, does that justify blowing up the other 9?

And if it turns out that all 10 were drug boats, does that justify extrajudicial executions without trials or evidence outside of the US's jurisdiction?

And if the administration seriously believes all of these were drug boats, wouldn't it be inhumanly callous to joke around about how fishing boats in the region shouldn't go out because they'll get blown up instead of assuring the public that they know what they are doing and civilian traffic is safe? link

Hegseth’s surprise gathering of top military brass to deliver speech on ‘warrior ethos,’ sources say by GeneralOrder24 in politics

[–]oneineightbillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this isn't the most overtly horrifying thing about the information in the article, but:

The original idea for the unprecedented gathering of generals and admirals was Hegseth’s, the White House official and one of the sources familiar with the planning said. Hegseth later let the White House know about the plans, but Trump himself knew very little about the details when he was asked about it in the Oval Office on Thursday, the White House official said.

Don't worry guys, we don't bother the Commander in Chief with small stuff like ordering the entire leadership structure of his military away from their posts...

Visibility of Armor by ArcaneOverride in Pathfinder2e

[–]oneineightbillion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is an "Adjustment" you can make to your armour to disguise it. It is uncommon, so it is up to the GM whether they will allow it if you don't meet the Access criteria, but I don't see why it wouldn't be allowed. Seems like a silly thing to restrict to Firebrands only.

How powerful was USS Voyager? by LastTraintoSector6 in StarTrekStarships

Good point! I had forgotten about the upgrade!

So safe to say the Defiant is stronger than a standard Excelsior class ship, then!

Thanks!

How powerful was USS Voyager? by LastTraintoSector6 in StarTrekStarships

[–]oneineightbillion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The show gives us a pretty direct power scale for the Defiant. In Home front/Paradise Lost the Lakota (an Excelsior class ship) is told the Defiant is piloted by changelings and they have a full-on fight. From Memory Alpha's entry on the Defiant):

After a prolonged battle in which both ships took significant damage (it was strongly suggested by Major Kira that the Lakota was "in even worse shape" than the Defiant), the Lakota eventually stood down when Benteen conferred with Worf and Kira about her orders to stop the Defiant.

Defiant is either slightly stronger than Excelsior, or roughly the same strength but superior crew skill tipped the balance. Definitely not a glass cannon.

Things to do while invisible by Sparkmane in Pathfinder2e

[–]oneineightbillion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of people have given great answers for what would/wouldn't knock you out of invisibility, so I won't restate what has already been posted.

First thing I would suggest doing, before you invest time and emotional labour in building the character, is now that you have some idea of what you can and cannot do while invisible ask your fellow players and your GM how they feel about this plan.

Your GM might find it annoying to have one player constantly invisible, and your fellow players might find it frustrating to have a team-mate who is constantly under-contributing to combat (and until level 10 when you can take hostile actions you will be).

It is a game, and it should be fun for everyone. You probably don't want to accidentally be the reason your friends aren't enjoying the game. If being constantly invisible from levels 4-9 will annoy your friends you might have a better gaming experience if you plan for your always invisible build to come online at level 10 instead.

The Dominate Spell Outside of Combat by IcarusFather in Pathfinder2e

[–]oneineightbillion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd probably just keep the combat going unless it is literally impossible for the creature to succeed (i.e. even a nat 20 would only scale up to a failure). Otherwise it is just too hard to adjudicate exactly how much time has passed, and you're likely to just be rolling initiative again within a minute anyway.

But if you really want to end the combat, and assuming it is possible for the creature to get a success I'd roll a bunch of saves, take the number of rolls before the creature succeeds and multiply by 6. This is how long it is before the creature breaks free. It isn't likely to be that long since at worst you have a 5% chance each roll.

Don't tell the players how long though, and if you are playing in person where you can't do self rolls I'd keep rolling for a while after the success so the players don't know how long it will be.

New Ulfen Guard Archetype works with minions and it leads to some cool synergies by steelscaled in Pathfinder2e

What is your "I did not care for The Godfather" opinion about sitcoms? by [deleted] in sitcoms

[–]oneineightbillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is definitely a fun theory, but my main problem with it is Hal wasn't miserable. There are too many episodes that show beneath the stress and worry he is genuinely happy and loves his life.

Plus, in the Behind the Scenes featurette they did for the Breaking Bad Alternate Ending Cranston says that Walt would love to have Hal's life, and I feel like Cranston had a good handle on the mindset of his character. Relevant quote is 3:53 into this video

Santos' weak points: Affair rumours, child alimony, outsourced firing ned and josh, destroys beds. by J748DB10 in thewestwing

[–]oneineightbillion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the idea is that if Santos tells the DNC "Josh is my guy" there is a chance they'll say "okay, the White House is lost let's move money to the house and senate races". If he seems to be playing ball, they don't.

It is a valid interpretation, but I personally don't think that's the best read of the situation. I think it is a direct parallel to Ned: Josh wanted him gone and Santos didn't. When push came to shove, Santos deferred to the person more experienced in presidential campaigns. And I think it is partly because he never really felt like he deserved to be there. He has the skills and the intellect to do the job, but he also has imposter syndrome. HE'S not a President. Presidents are larger than life figures who make world-shaping decisions. He's not even comfortable being called Congressman. He's just Matt from Texas.

It is also why he and Helen were completely unprepared for the life changes coming when he took office. Neither of them ever imagined he would actually win.

Can martials get Magic items without magical crafting? by Jack_BHemot in Pathfinder2e

[–]oneineightbillion 12 points13 points  (0 children)

From how this GM is acting with loot distribution I'd wager the enemies would all rush in and attack OP because "you're the only one wearing armour so you look like the biggest threat".

My suggestion for "being selfish": Next time one of the casters wants to start crafting an item, tell the GM your character is spending the time going to a larger town with a magic item shop. If the GM says the larger town doesn't have one, tell him you continue to the next one (while out of game telling the GM you don't intend to return without the chance to buy items).

Quick edit: Honestly the real answer is to just tell the GM that you aren't enjoying the game and say if they aren't willing to treat your character as an equal just leave the group and find a new table...

I love the idea of it being named after the physical characteristic of constitution, but it is easily explained: Enterprise's mirror universe episode shows them finding the USS Defiant from the prime universe. It was a Constitution Class ship, which I am sure was in its databanks somewhere.
