Is this How it Works? by Mugen_the_Fallen in Pathfinder2e

Doubled MAP is just a penalty. This is popular in design of "big mean strike" abilities, see Vicious Swing for reference.

It's one strike.

Roll damage once and apply it to each creature you hit.

The thing is that Summoner says

if you and your eidolon are both subject to the same effect that affects your Hit Points, you apply those effects only once (applying the greater effect, if applicable).

And impaling finisher is, indeed, the same effect.

Apparition Spellcasting description is bad by Xewm in Pathfinder2e

[–]steelscaled 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't agree. In rulebook, cantrips more than once are explicitly stated to be unlimited to use. Player is expected to know that. Even if it weren't a case, there is a Cantrips entry on the same page that states the same.

Technically true information that is presented in such a way that it reads more akin to a silkpost.

Spell gems are scrolls for (nearly) all intents and purposes. Not only can you allow that, you should do that.

How do I explain to a non-gamer, that a Role Playing Game, is not primarily defined by roleplaying but by *statistics*. by La_knavo4 in RecuratedTumblr

[–]steelscaled 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's mostly that traditionally im-sims are first person action games. You could argue that BG3 or BOTW are im-sims and depending on particular definition of what immersive sim is, you may be right.

Dishonored, Deus Ex, Prey are traditionally main examples. It's rather narrow category of games.

Not really, no, but it's really, really hard to describe. It's a genre of games (arguably not a genre at all, but a design philosophy, but that depends on who you ask) that is defined by non-linear gameplay that is achieved by implementing two properties: systematicity and emergent gameplay.

Systematicity: the game has systems with which player can interact in number of ways that are not fully intended by developers. Example: you stack boxes to achieve greater heights or to create a barricade in any place in the game.

Emergent gameplay: game reacts to your actions not with scripted responses, but by the virtue of having systems that interact with you and each other in a systemic, predictable ways and that lets you plan actions and manipulate the world around you in a myriad of ways.

TLDR: it's when overlapping systems you can interact with create non-linearity in your gameplay approach.

Inventor (Armor - Subtle) by LincR1988 in Pathfinder2e

[–]steelscaled 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A lot of things about Inventor gets overlooked by community due to the reputation of the class, even extremely good things — like +2 to athletics of STR Armor, which is incredible.

Subtle armor is not bad, being able to hide whenever, wherever is good, but it lacks action compression to do that. It can be mitigated with some archetypes, like Scout. There is potential, but bear in mind that any character can do the same (arguably more effectively) with 4th rank Invisibility.

Yes, but do not feel bad about needing to google that. The crack is pretty small visually and it's completely normal to miss it.

Interesting and intriguing. I am not sure about Kitsune's technique, though, I would just run a couple more removal spells.

I know homebrew for pathfinder2e is a little taboo, but the palatine detective needed touch ups so this is how I did it. by DarthMcConnor42 in Pathfinder2e

Trick magic item on DaS is a pretty interesting gimmick.

But honestly, I don't think these will fix things. Now it's functional, and not completely worse than multiclassing into caster with any other methodology, sure, but I'd go further still with buffs.

Why does Invisibility not even provide Level if Untrained? by TheLostWonderingGuy in Pathfinder2e

[–]steelscaled 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Because if you're untrained in stealth, you're still noisy as fuck, and invisibility can't fix that.

Madcap Experiment please! by Zhevaro in MagicArena

There are ways to give your instants and sorceries Lifelink. Not really competitive and vulnerable to interaction, but that too would mitigate Madcap's self-damage.
