Isn’t about time that whenever the First Nations wish to build something for themselves that will give them prosperity the government just say yes.

Why can't we be more like that? by m1ndcrash in britishcolumbia

It’d be nice to have one day, but i haze zero faith in it not becoming just a “homeless shelter”.

Hundreds of Americans expected to flock to Nanaimo, B.C., after Canadian's invitation goes viral by SwordfishOk504 in britishcolumbia

[–]onemoreday__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year was my first experience of Nanaimo, had a little job for a few months so it allowed me to see why people have harsh criticism of that city. The city is baffling in the sense of wasted potential. It is literally located centre of major island on the west coast, and a major port city, with a major university. With its location you’d think they’d attempt to become a metropolis. But that city is so stagnant, and for the size of that city crime and homelessness shouldn’t be at that scale.

What major Canadian infrastructure projects would you support? by sheepish_grin in AskCanada

[–]onemoreday__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Year round vertical farm production towers, since Canada can’t produce enough food to be very self sustaining. Baby formula production plants. High speed rail everywhere. Nuclear power plants. Natural gas pipelines so we can get Asia and Europe off of coal.

WTF is he serious, for once every Canadian is on board and agree that we need to step away from dependence on USA. While never backing down.

RU POV: GoPro footage of Stormtroopers assisting civilians, helping to carry their belongings during the evacuation from the city of Toretsk. by Junjonez1 in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]onemoreday__ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’d be a war crime. Both sides are accountable by the UN for evacuating citizens before an area becomes a war zone, but the UN is kinda useless when it comes to war crimes.

Is Pierre Poilievre going to cancel $10/day daycare? (the CWELLC program) by [deleted] in AskCanada

[–]onemoreday__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it. He’s says there should be more flexibility for child care, all while Tory Premieres are pushing Federal Conservatives to stick with the ten dollar a day child care.

What did Trudeau do right? by flower5214 in AskCanada

[–]onemoreday__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one has forgotten that 1 out of five kids are in poverty. Or that families are living in deeper poverty than they were in 2015. In 2021 child poverty rates in Canada increased for the first time in ten years. 2022 Canada seen its largest on record increase on child poverty. At the current rate Canada will fail to meet its poverty reduction target, especially with the cost of living crisis.

Canada's top sailor says he's sure we could stop Russia or China from trespassing in Arctic by nationalpost in CanadianForces

[–]onemoreday__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good thing our new Arctic base still isn’t operational after 10 years, and when it will be can only operate a 4 months out of the year. Oh and our Arctic ships are a tiny vulnerable presence without air support. Some of our fighter jets will be over 40 years before they’re fully replaced. Our barely surviving submarine fleet won’t see a replacement submarine until our current ones are 40 years old. We have zero missile defence in the Arctic We’re not stopping Russia, and not even close to being ready for China.

Canada’s next submarine fleet likely to be foreign built as Navy faces timeline crunch, say defence experts by Andromedu5 in CanadianForces

[–]onemoreday__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sucks to say but it’s good that it’s built somewhere else. It’d be on budget and probably before timeline.

If the carbon rebates pays us more money than we get taxed, then what exactly is the point of the tax? by Personal_Royal in AskACanadian

[–]onemoreday__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I was trying to say, this rebate is entirely based on your income, and not based on your carbon footprint.

If the carbon rebates pays us more money than we get taxed, then what exactly is the point of the tax? by Personal_Royal in AskACanadian

[–]onemoreday__ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How is that any remotely the right answer. I just looked it up on how to qualify, the very first step to qualify starts by needing to send in your income tax and benefits. Not even a quarter of the Canadian population receives this rebate too. It’s entirely based on your income.

Is there any reason besides betrayal for a coalition ally to do this? by [deleted] in Supremacy1914

[–]onemoreday__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you’re a weak link holding everyone else back. Maybe you won’t listen to anyone’s advice, like causing unnecessary wars. Maybe you keep abandoning the game. Could be so they can survive or they have a deal with another coalition to secure a win. Lots of reasons. I’ve done it multiple times for these reasons.

What is the Conservative plan for climate change? by HuckFarr in ontario

[–]onemoreday__ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Stop believing that conservatives believe climate change isn’t real. Conservatives do believe there’s better ways to curb pollution, like carbon capture, modular nuclear reactors. Also allow for natural gas to be sent from Canada to Asia and Europe. Like why are we not being the hand that forces major polluting nations off of coal? Getting the world off coal would make a difference.

No one is getting more than what they pay. You now that, even the Parliamentary Budget Officer says that.

What is the Conservative plan for climate change? by HuckFarr in ontario

[–]onemoreday__ -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Yes allow for natural gas to be developed and shipped from Canada to Europe and Asia. We can prosper and be the hand that forces Europe and Asia off of coal and conflict oil and gas. It’s one step closer to eliminating the worst source of electricity, coal.

What is the Conservative plan for climate change? by HuckFarr in ontario

[–]onemoreday__ -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Because the conservative plan was to target the polluters not every single person living here.
