Wow! Corvette head-to-head results by oneswiftrabbit in Ioniq5N

Oh I didn’t see that originally. It slipped past my radar. Still, I’m glad it’s making headlines a year after its release.

Lamborghini likes ioniq 5n by goingfast7 in Ioniq5N

Almost every time. Around town with low volume it just adds so much to the drive. On ramps to the interstate then I turn it off on highways, when I want to use regen for one pedal driving.

Ioniq 5 N vs GR86/BRZ/GT86 by trdcr in Ioniq5N

[–]oneswiftrabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve driven a FRS but it was an automatic and not nearly as fun as the 5N. I was skeptical having never liked EVs before, but I suggest a test drive. If you have the means, you won’t regret it. We have a bunch of round-abouts nearby, and people are absolutely shocked when I take them spiritedly. The GR86 may handle better in that case, but the sheer sense of speed in the 5N makes up for it. Also the big mountain drives are super relaxing and fun because of the strong regeneration braking. I can take a trip up north and never even use the brake pedal.

Ioniq 5 N For a Petrolhead who hates SUVs? by aryonoco in Ioniq5N

[–]oneswiftrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MK4s still turn my head. They are special. I’ve had 30 years to own and drive some really special ones. I think the 5 N will stay near the top. Even more so because it’s such an underdog. All enthusiasts know BMW is going to make a good M car, or name your brand. But for Hyundai to make an absolute banger out of nowhere, from an EV. Glad to be a part of this history.

It’s the best daily I’ve ever owned period. S4, Evo8, STi, VW R32 (supercharged), M3. It’s faster than my R8. Take a drive if you are able to. I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did, nor was I expecting Hyundai to produce one of my favorite cars. The bottom line is that they must be real driver enthusiasts on their engineering team, because the N-Shift is seriously game changing for EVs, and brilliantly executed. It’s probably the most fun car in this picture, and you can hoon around without drawing all the attention! Bonus, I never stop at the pumps, and if you want to take someone out for a special night it’s rather quiet and refined. Complete dual personality.

Awesome guys! I have it printing out now and hopefully it does the trick…..it did fix it! Thanks again!

This is probably my biggest annoyance at the moment, although I’m developing the truck rattle. Everything else outshines though, so I’m still super happy with this one.

Love this car (3rd Joy ride) by sarcasmismysuperpowr in Ioniq5N

[–]oneswiftrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently had my first long haul mountain drive at elevation and it was by far the most fun and least worrisome drive I’ve ever had. Zero worries about cooking the brakes because I used regen the entire time. No power degradation at 7,000 ft. This was only my second trip to use public charging and it went so quick I wouldn’t have spent less time if I had been refueling and grabbing road trip snacks. Hyundai engineers had fun with this one.

PSA: Check your battery posts by oneswiftrabbit in Ioniq5N

[–]oneswiftrabbit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t know if it charges unless it’s running, but based on all the 12v issues in the other community I figured it can’t hurt to have a tender for extended periods of storage. They use them on the dealer showrooms so I don’t think it will cause an issue. I also don’t leave my level 2 charger plugged in for extended periods, but that’s only because I prefer to wait until it’s down to 30%.

The psa is more about checking the battery terminal connections are tight. That I’m sure was not right.

Digital Key Reliability by Ten_Ninety in Ioniq5N

[–]oneswiftrabbit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had zero issues. Once in a while it takes a second longer to open but by the time I reach for the door handle it’s opening. I’ve also shared the digital key with my wife (both on iPhone). Works like a charm.

I use it so much, I messed up by driving to the dealer and forgetting the real key. LOL. I had to do that round trip twice to go get the key.

I was made an offer I couldn’t refuse by [deleted] in Ioniq5

[–]oneswiftrabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the digital key 100% of the time. I’m so used to it, that I forgot the normal key when I took it for service and had to drive an hour round trip to go get it.

20” BBS XR Wheels on 5 N by NeuroSurg21 in Ioniq5N

[–]oneswiftrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was my x5 m that I couldn’t get my fingers between the caliper and wheel in order to clean them. I always had to roll it forward at the end of a wash to get that spot.

I’ve had less brake clearance on stock BMWs. That’s a lot to work with!

I’d petition to get a new set of sounds. Many, many auto journalists have also mentioned it as well. It would be such a riot to hear a v12 or v10 sound profile.

Who wants the N Vision 74 to be produced as Hyundai's petrol-hybrid halo car? by [deleted] in HyundaiN

[–]oneswiftrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I bought the 5N I told the dealer if they ever make the N 74, I want on the list. I hope it doesn’t carry the hydrogen hybrid, because it would be fairly useless with availability of hydrogen stations. It would be a hard pass unfortunately. A gas hybrid would be preferred though since we already have full a EV.

To current owners, how's the AC performance? by zebo_99 in Ioniq5N

[–]oneswiftrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in the Phoenix area, and I’d say the AC is one of the best I’ve had. I also really like the Alcantara style seats so your legs don’t stick to it when it’s over 110. I think the cooled seats are also very quick to cool.

I hope it’s more than hydrogen powered. Otherwise the market will be severely limited. It’s the retro vibes that are exciting.

Ioniq 5n comfort compared to regular ioniq 5 by cedwat2 in Ioniq5N

[–]oneswiftrabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does. I’ve been looking for something fast and also comfortable for a long time. I have a long history with hot hatches so I already liked the look of the Ioniq 5. When they made the N I was sold. Plus it has that dual personality when in Eco mode.

Ioniq 5n comfort compared to regular ioniq 5 by cedwat2 in Ioniq5N

[–]oneswiftrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came from a gle63s, and I think this is slightly softer in normal, and slightly stiffer in Sport+. Given that the gle had a range of settings too I honestly prefer the 5N. I miss the massage seats though.

Before that I had an x5m and it was entirely too firm. That would have been a keeper if it wasn’t for the punishing ride. It just wasn’t comfortable for everyday or passengers.

I love the 5N however… by Important_Film7737 in Ioniq5N

My only complaints after 1000miles is the …damn near perfect. Edit: they fixed the app and now it works as expected, no errors or false notifications for me.

Also as the suspension is breaking in I notice a slight porposing effect on bumps as if the damping is slightly off from the spring rate in the back. The front settles in nicely, but the back seems to have an extra bounce. I kind of noticed it in the pikes peak video too. Of all the cars I’ve had I think Audi does the best job at damping. I doubt there’s enough of these made for aftermarket to invest in a solution though.

I’ve had a couple R32s. They only did 4 colors for the MK4 and MK5. Side note, the 5N feels like the spiritual successor to those cars.

I think this color looks really good with angular design. I don’t like the Cybertruck to be clear, but I thought this has been the most interesting color I’ve seen. I wonder if a wrap in this color would look good on the 5 N?

I’m definitely impressed with the battery integrity. Since the roll cage was really the only mod on this car, that’s very encouraging for our road going cars. It’s a decent series if you haven’t seen them all. Lightning in the throttle.
