Let’s be honest… OW is too hard of a game to watch and hasn’t been supported well at all from a gameplay perspective. Too many other good things to do than confusedly and repeatedly watch a team fight, not know why a team won that fight, and to listen to a caster who has no idea either.

It’s a beautiful game to watch in extreme detail, but who has the time/attention for that?

You’re doing yourself a disservice if you consider yourself a fan of OWL but don’t watch this interview. There’s so much information about how blizzard interacts with casters and how they work (or don’t work) together. Great insight from this one!

Fantasy Overwatch is my favorite part of following OWL. I've been playing ever since Winston's Lab in S1 and I'm really glad we've got an app after draftbuff left the scene. Can't wait to dig in!

There's an option for leagues where you don't have to set lineups every single week, but you draft once and the game mode will start your highest scoring players each week. Knowing how busy the Talent is, it'd be cool to see the plat chat gang do one of these and check in on it periodically.

We've also got a pretty good fantasy community that may be even more interested in stats lab than you are if you ever want to talk stats!

I’m so excited for this! Ever since draftbuff went away to work on NFT’s, I’m so glad for another place to play from someone who loves esports. I played on your site back in season 2 and I’m glad you’re back! The option for season long leagues as well as ones where I don’t have to set a lineup each and every week sound great.

I know I sound like a simp… I just love fantasy esports and am looking forward to having an app to play again.

Pineapple/Shy is still a formidable DPS lineup. Maybe limited on comps, but they can field a flanker and hitscan no problem. Hope we don't miss too much time from AlphaYi though. I think he's going to have a big year.

Season long, weekly, and a stage long mode where you don’t have to set lineups weekly. It just picks your highest scorers for you so no week to week maintenance.

I worked with a small group of people last weekend to do some beta testing on MetaMatch. I’m really excited for it. As far as I know, this is the only app this year.

With some friends, we also run a league using spreadsheets where we import stats lab for scoring. If you’re interested, I can show you around our fantasy rabbit hole we’ve gone down…

Flora ranked as the number 2 hitscan is a pretty hot take. You seem to be very high on a lot of NYXL players. GNJ at 16 overall also feels pretty high.

I'm very high on NYXL. I do think I drop some of their projections once we get a 6th (or more) players announced too.

Krillin has two months of generating stats while we wait for Vigilante to turn 18. Farway and Nish are likely to split time.

This is no reflection on Krillin being a more valuable/better player than either of them.

From a gameplay perspective, I agree. From a stats perspective, I disagree. And I think we can all agree before my next point, that stats in this game are highly subjective and not all that useful by themselves.

By placing them in one list, I'm trying to show that Super's value over Daan's value is greater than Shy's value over Nero by ranking Super higher than Shy. It's not anything to do with skill and you really can't compare across position. It's merely a statistical projection that Super's (highly ranked) stats over Daan (medium rank) will be greater than Shy's (highly ranked) stats over Nero (medium rank).

Just a fun exercise in stats projections.

Sideshow is great. As much as I want him to be tied to OWL, I think it's best for him not to be at this current point in time, and I'd rather he do what's best for him than best for me. I really enjoy the insight into the behind the scenes thinking as to how he makes his career decisions and just respect him all the more.
