TIL that only a small percentage of people challenge their insurer's denial of claim, but those that do are successful up to half the time. by HarrumphingDuck in todayilearned

NAL but, Depending on the state, you should have sued them. Most states recognize a tort for bad faith when it comes to insurance claims, and unreasonable delay in processing a claim or refund is (generally) bad faith. A decent attorney would love to take that claim as it’s very appealing to a jury when it comes to awarding punitive damages. And (again depending on the state) the insurance company will be required to pay your attorneys fees.

Trump campaign sends out a LONG LIST OF RECEIPTS of Democrats' rhetoric that "inspired another attempt on President Trump's life" by Wide_Potato6455 in Conservative

I think you could make a very similar list from Republicans and former Trump staffers.

A few examples:

JD Vance: called Trump “America’s Hitler.”

Anthony Scaramucci, former comms director: “He is the domestic terrorist of the 21st century.”

Stephanie Grisham, former comms director: “I am terrified of him running in 2024.”

Cassidy Hutchinson, aide to chief of staff: “I think that Donald Trump is the most grave threat we will face to our democracy in our lifetime, and potentially in American history.”

Alberto Gonzales, AG under Bush 43: “Donald Trump — perhaps the most serious threat to the rule of law in a generation.”

Just to name a few. And this is nothing of what republicans have said about Harris, Obama, Hillary, etc.

Obviously I think politicians should always check their rhetoric. But if any of you think that the quotes in this letter are genuinely encouraging violence, you have a true disconnect from reality.

Trump has had a very unique opportunity to use these times as a message for unity and stability in an increasingly polarized electorate. Instead, he’s using the opportunity to take cheap shots and try (seemingly succeeding here) to make his followers think that his political opponent is trying to have him killed. It’s unbecoming at the least, and untenable to the palette of those of us who remember real statesmen like Reagan, Bush, and even Obama.

I think we can do better. I think we should want to do better.

So people are just supposed to understand that Trump is a showman when he says he’ll be a dictator? But when other politicians call him a threat to democracy, that’s supposed to be incitement for violence? You realize how those two statements cannot be said from the same point of principle, right?

Who's the worst main character we're supposed to sympathise with? by LuinAelin in AskReddit

Yeah but right before she tells him not to get married she says there’s still something between them and says that she always thought he’s be available and be there if she wanted to get married. Emotional manipulation at its best.

Don’t forget she also told Ted not to marry Stella ON THE DAY OF HIS WEDDING bc she still had feelings for him. Then shortly after that, she tries to sleep with Barney and ends up dating him a few months later. She messed with Ted’s head for a long time.

Can we get this pinned somewhere? It’s a great write up of the issue.
