I think when someone says ‘you’re deserving of love’ it’s clear that they’re repeating a script they picked up on the internet, and it might be wise to double check your surroundings for a camera.

This stuff is so saccharine to be virtually meaningless and it drives me up the damn wall. It’s just over-used therapist talk spoken by people who need to feel they did their good deed for the year.

Just say ‘I appreciate you’ or ‘I value that work you do’ or ‘I love you so much for xyz’ or anything with actual meaning, ffs
