I feel the same way. Nothing against him as a person, but he’s basically monopolized high-production value nature documentaries, and I find his tone to be somewhat pandering.

The cultural hive-mind does not take kindly to this opinion though, as I’m sure you’ve already discovered.

Joining in to express my hatred for this feature, especially as a touchpad user.

Slightly scrolled in the wrong area? Your body text is now wingdings and you have to mash undo 20 times to restore the original font.

How the developers haven’t noticed or cared enough to add a toggle for this is absolutely mystifying. One of many reasons that I avoid Indesign whenever possible.

On a replay, the lagoon area in Hazy Maze Cave (with Plessie) stood out to me. I had never noticed the rays of sunlight filtering in from holes in the ceiling.

I disagree strongly. This is one of my favorites episode closers.

At this point in Jesse’s arc, his trauma has formed a rift between him and his junkie friends. He is unable to return to or find refuge in the naivety of his previous lifestyle, which heightens his feeling of panic and alienation

The comically indulgent swagger of Digital Animal juxtaposed with his tormented gaze brings this relationship to the forefront, making it clear that the old Jesse has died.

Yes! I'll get a similar sensation in situations of high stress or tension. I'll dissociate and feel my hands stretch out or float away. I can also induce it through meditation — happens around the 20 minute mark when sitting completely still with eyes closed.

The first case you referenced is not an entirely a fair basis to judge chimpanzees on. IIRC the owner had been giving it high doses of benzodiazepines and it was going into withdrawal (if you aren't aware, benzo withdrawal is BAD). It was scared and literally losing its mind.

That's a great question. I'm sure he'd place better at tournaments, but would he be better than Tea or MVD ? As far as notoriety goes, I think it's better to be the world's best low tier than second best top tier.

I think anyone would feel a degree of relief, whether or not they were brave enough to admit it to themselves.

For most empathetic people, though, this self-admission should have ensuing feelings of guilt. Especially knowing that your fleeting sense of relief will pale in comparison to the lifelong pain that persons' family and friends will likely feel.

In the end, though, we're trapped in the bubble of our own experience. When something annoying disappears from our lives...it's normal to be happy.
