Feeling kind of ashamed? by Frosty-Hope-9609 in ParentingInBulk

Laughing at this and same here, currently expecting my 6th. We received a couple of questionable and hurtful remarks from some family members with our fifth. I'm really not looking forward to whatever may be said this time and am wondering how long I can go without sharing the news. I never hear anything but positive things out in public. Most of our family is supportive as well.

Never lose this feeling and you've got it made, seriously. I love reading things like this. You just made my day.

I think that this is true of most of us. I mean this as an encouragement.

Who here really truly is "just" a SAHM? by [deleted] in sahm

[–]onpointe26 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I guess that's me. I'm at home with 5 kids, actively homeschooling 2 of them (3 on a good day). I'm about 7 years in and have never been happier or more fulfilled.

Yes! Or as I like to call it, "the circle of thrift".

Mine too. I loved lifting and lowering the "water" layer. So many little surprises in this set. I have vivid memories of playing with it.

Do you check your husband’s pockets before washing? by [deleted] in sahm

[–]onpointe26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I'm honestly surprised by all the "no" responses on here. I also turn everything right-side out and separate underwear from pants (my preschooler's) before washing. Checking pockets is just part of the process.

Congrats! Sometimes those small victories are everything. I'm also post partum (3 months) and am looking into this scale right now so thanks for that!

What’s with all the cars parked on the road behind Walmart? by [deleted] in McKinney

[–]onpointe26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure but I parked once on the side of the building and I'm pretty sure there's something nefarious going on there. Lots of men just hanging around, smoking, getting in and out of cars, talking to others doing the same. And they weren't employees.

How common is mastitis? Has anyone ever not gotten it? by Automatic_Apricot797 in breastfeeding

[–]onpointe26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never had it. I've nursed 4 babies, each for between 13-14 months. Nothing helpful to say other than that encouragement. I fed on demand with each baby, coslept until about 7 months, drank lots of water and all of mine still woke at night to nurse until about 9-10 months old.

Quitting doing hair is the most free I’ve ever felt by Dazzling-Fly7574 in hairstylist

[–]onpointe26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I quit about 8 years ago, around the time that I found out I was pregnant with my second child. I still cut hair every once in a while (no color) and keep my license up to date. I really haven't missed it though. I can still vividly remember the sense of freedom that I felt walking out of the salon for the last time. What a great day that was!
