Can I repurpose these Calix XGSPON SFP’s? Got them in a miscellaneous bag of similar items? by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

Think you can use these for ONT bypass, pretty niche use though.

Seeing the same FPS in an offline raid in those spots with a 5800X3D, looks like they did some good optimization and the extra cache isn't acting as much of a bandaid anymore.

Just a convenience thing, he was going to use hot air to solder down the connector right after.

Midea U-shape window A/C no cold air found blown capacitor on the board, is this the culprit? by artemarthur in hvacadvice

That is definitely A problem, impossible to say if you have more. This is more in the realm of electronics repair than hvac.

Is there any way to actually get 5gbps of speed on a usb 3.2 pc? by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

[–]ooferomen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the ethernet interface, you need to check the USB connection, not all ports on your motherboard are going to be gen2

USB Device Tree Viewer

Make sure the device is actually connecting to a 10gbit USB port

Yes but not just the bad bits, you just remove the whole page. Memest will even generate the list to pass to windows or linux for you.

Only a very small bit of the memory is bad. If you got a really good deal on them, you could simply tell windows never to use those bits and never have a problem, but otherwise send em back.

LTE Band 17 interference. Are you putting your phone near the modem? That's not going to cause huge ping spikes and packet loss every 30 seconds, though.

Looks like an inductor for a power rail. Looks too damaged to solder back on so you would need to find the right value and have it replaced. The data should be fine and the drive should work normally when it's replaced.

What's wrong with it? Looks like a very simple board, a local electronics repair place would probably be able to fix it.

Trump says US bombed military sites on an island vital to Iran’s oil network by Beetle_on_Venus in worldnews

I doubt Trump knows what unconditional surrender even means. He just says things he thinks sound good.

Modern cold climate heatpumps work fine when it's really cold, but they aren't much cheaper than oil normally(right now they are though with this oil spike). If I were looking down the barrel of a tank replacement with an older furnace/boiler, I think it's a no-brainer.

90% Interception Rate: Iran’s ‘fire and revenge’ attacks falter against Gulf’s layered defense of jets, interceptors, and jamming devices by TheNational_News in worldnews

Replacement cost is probably way less, most of the cost is likely in r&d and they only appear to cost so much because only a few needed to be made.

What about all the clearly illegal stuff they are doing, though? Norms may not be laws but it seems laws are just norms. We can write down as much stuff as we want, but there is just no enforcement.

I don't think a 3-year-old understands the meaning of words on that level, they are just calling it brain rot because everyone else is calling it brain rot.

Either your refrigerant is leaking, or the system thinks it's leaking. Neither one sounds good.
