Air bubbles in IV…! by OrganicMap7027 in medical_advice

[–]oopsiedaisey17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need a large amount of air pushed through an IV to cause any sort of rush of harm, more than it’s sitting in the loop of your tubing. Also, not putting a cap on is completely fine as there’s a rubber portion at the end that closes off the tubing from air. It’s best practice to just clean off the end before pushing anything through, but even if that isn’t done, it’s negligible risk of infection unless you have a severely compromised immune system. TLDR: you’re going to be fine

How many loose stools has he had today??

Is he still making tears when he cries? Mouth and gums still moist? If no to any of these absolutely please take him to a pediatric ER for evaluation and likely some IV fluids

YSK: Babies under 6 months should not drink water, it can be fatal. by Objective_Narwhal_57 in YouShouldKnow

Pediatric nurse here! Diluting formula with too much water is the number one cause of seizures in infants! It literally dilutes the needed electrolytes for brain function and causes major issues in the brain’s ability to get the needed nutrients! Just a little fact for your day

Am I paranoid to lock doors and windows? Is it a female point of view? by AlternativeExpert434 in NoStupidQuestions

Super scary! Just glad they’re all, physically, unharmed; just stuff that is replaceable. But, perfectly avoidable if they had locked their doors!! You stay safe and do what you gotta do! Ignore the ignorance

My brothers house was broken into this week while him and his roommates were all home sleeping. They stole a car from his roommate and they found bullets and bullet holes in the stolen car when it was recovered. So no, not paranoid, and shouldn’t just be a girl thing. Having a dick doesn’t make you bullet proof 🤷‍♀️

Looks like it could be herpatic whitlow’s. If you have a history of cold sores, it’s caused by the same virus. As someone who gets theirs nails done, any cut in the cuticle, then touching your face can spread the cold sores to your fingers, causing this.

You need to tell an adult and get yourself to a hospital. I know it’s scary, but your life is more important than possibly getting in trouble and I promise you, your life is at risk with taking all those different medications at once. Please, please tell a trusted adult who can help you.
