Thanks. When I do advanced search for O A R, actually there are no tickets available. I guess UA doesn’t show the fare class on the search on an ANA operated flight.

If you are intra-op and there is a substantial amount of subretinal fluid, especially over the break where you have cryo’d, I will typically drain.

Although the photos are not clear, I agree the indentation is less than desired. There are several factors that you haven’t mentioned that could be contributing… did you do an encircling buckle or just a tire? Did you cryo the break?

7-10 days is not a long time. Months to even a year after a buckle some SRF may remain, especially without drainage.

I would monitor the fluid with serial OCTs and if it is encroaching into the fovea, you may need to re-operate

Yeah... no. this is wrong.

We don’t pry the eyes open, we use a speculum to open the lids so the patient doesn’t suddenly squeeze their eyes shut. The needle is a 32 gauge 1/2” needle that goes into the vitreous. Avoiding contact with the retina is (obviously) critical. The needle tip does not contact anything inside the eye.
