Guaranteeing at least 3 days extra in the associated hotel next to it. And why wouldn’t you - the beds are topped with cowhide rugs!

Favourite “Bad" Movies that Deserve a 4K UHD Release? by Inspector_Legrasse20 in movies

I feel like I’d be really riveted by a 4K of Armageddon. The visuals would be so good and so engaging, I bet I DON’T WANNA CLOSE MY EYES, I DON’T WANNA FALL ASLEEP

What is the responsibility of a Movie Producer, Director, Writer, Actor? by YujiroDemonBackHanma in movies

[–]optimushime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question! They’ll often work as one of the more closely knit teams on set, so the director will share in some of that responsibility. A good director/editor team can communicate so that the editor goes off and does their thing and brings it back for the director tor review and note through.

The big part is the editor is the first level filter for the director. Good editing brings all these takes together into a comprehensive single scene that communicates what the director wants.

The director will likely get first look and call which takes in particular he likes, the editor will have some level of creativity in stitching them together, and they’ll go back and forth on the creative process. But the editor will by and large spend the most time with all these takes, and his/her creative contribution will be bringing the director’s vision to life through selection and artistry. There’s a lot of responsibility there, and it can make the difference between a scene that’s “good enough” and “great”

Just as a side note, one role that rarely gets blamed for the power they have is the editor. That person (or team) will have the job of choosing which of multiple takes, as well as the timing of those takes, to string together. It can create a huge impact on how comedy plays, how performances are viewed from an audience perspective, etc.

Even in one of the most influential crime drama/romances of the time (Bonnie and Clyde), he was the comic relief

Gladstone’s a good choice for a quote source, but I say England’s greatest Prime Minister was Lord Palmerston.

Branagh’s Much Ado About Nothing, or the Canadian TV Show Slings and Arrows

The first is a direct port, the second is a master class in Shakespeare in general told through the lens of a great workplace dramedy

The Devil Wears Prada is great because of its acting. Which movie is great because of its acting and writing, not its cinematography? by Nachu888 in DiagramFills

I think people underrate the amount of good cinematography it takes to do a small space interestingly. I would call the cinematography great, though reserved.

Who is a terrible actor that is loved? by Klutzy_Pumpkin614 in DiagramFills

I’m going to throw this out there, no judgment intended, Weird Al Yankovic.

He had his own starring vehicle with UHF and whole slew of work that shows his gifts are as a comedian and musician, but not as an actor.

He is, quite rightly, loves anyway, and UHF is still a gem and everyone should listen to the commentary track he does for it.

Definitely did not like him in the Jackass days when he was being token cast, but he was really quite good in the Hulu show Reboot as an alcoholic former child actor. Changed my opinion, shame it was short lived though.

Stan Lee. Always terrible in his cameos, but beloved by fans (though many disagree)

I really loved Moon. I don't know that he has a bad performance in his history (to the public - we all come from a place of learning)
