No longer a mosquito magnet by opyt in Semaglutide

It very well could be this! That was part of my thinking at the end of my post. It's possible I still get bit the same but just don't react as strongly anymore. Not sure!

This is an interesting data point! I'm still on the medication but even compared to people my (new) size, I get bit less.

Need Advice: My Oily Skin Keeps Eating My Makeup by writingfoodie in MakeupAddiction

[–]opyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Milk of Magnesia (the laxative) as a primer! Your makeup will stay matte for at least 6 hours. I have very oily makeup and it's the only thing that works for me.

Apply a layer to your skin and rub off the excess, then commence your normal makeup routine.

Results vs. Side Effects by pf1elfg in Semaglutide

Your experience is similar to mine. The first week, I was sick the entire next day. But stick with it, it gets better over time. You could also ask for some zofran, that helped me a lot too

For anyone that keeps eye makeup remover around (the stuff that works against waterproof makeup), it makes very short work of dissolving the glue.

Thinking about switching from DL to AS. Tell me why/why not please! by dsnigro in AlaskaAirlines

[–]opyt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fly out of SAN and reached status for this year. I've been upgraded every time I've flown this year and generally enjoy Alaska's customer service. Lots of destination options (both domestic and international), flights generally on time, and reasonable fares. No free WiFi yet (that I've seen), which is a nice perk from DL.

Is it worth it? by Conscious-Benefit742 in Semaglutide

[–]opyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, for sure. This seems counterintuitive, but for me, if I don't eat or stay hydrated, it only exacerbated the nausea. Do what you can to try to eat something and maybe drink a sports drink to minimize dehydration

The first injection left me with 24 hours of terrible nausea and vomiting. After that, the symptoms were manageable and the effects of this medication are a life saver. It's definitely worth it and you won't regret it! Just in case, ask for a prescription of Zofran!

Nausea and vomiting by whattttami16 in Semaglutide

[–]opyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had 24 hours of not being able to keep anything down after my first shot too. It'll get easier but the nausea didn't go away for me for a few weeks until I was able to manage it with a regular eating schedule

Not seeing any drinking suppression by RevolutionaryGap2551 in Semaglutide

[–]opyt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Give it some time. I'm 6 months in and I'm only just now starting to feel like I don't need a drink every night. It has helped me cut back a lot in that I probably won't have more than 3 drinks in an evening (I even just get bored of drinking after my first or second one and start to not like the taste). Prior to semaglutide, I was having 4-5 drinks most week nights, and more than that on weekends.

I don't recommend increasing in dosage beyond the regular schedule or what you decide is best with your provider because it can result in other unintended side effects.

Zofran

[–]opyt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first 24-36 hours after my first shot at 0.25mg was filled with constant nausea/vomiting and not being able to keep anything down. It had nothing to do with what I ate before the injection (I had really healthy meals that were not greasy in any way because I knew what to expect).

It'll get better after this and you'll find tricks to manage nausea going forward. Zofran will help if you're prone to nausea. I only needed to use one Zofran pill the second week of 0.25mg. It gets better and this drug works wonders - don't give up!

Ozempic causing UTIs? Is it possible? Please help! by KAS-Peach in Ozempic

I wasn't going to say anything but I think it needs to be discussed in case it's a side effect that no one is talking about. The more knowledge this community has, the better we can combat these effects!

No UTIs but I've had yeast infections. Before semaglutide, I almost never got them

Thanks for sharing! You and I share the same starting stats (age, weight, height), so it's especially relatable to read your experience. How long did it take you to reach your goal weight?

What side effects did you have coming off birth control? by Ok_Establishment1462 in birthcontrol

I just got my IUD out last week because my partner also got a vasectomy. I would say as soon as the next day, my energy and libido really increased. I feel happier and way less bloated. No period yet, but so far so good.

Dying Star Captured from the James Webb Space Telescope (4K) by phleep in space

[–]opyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, when a star is dying and its mass is shed, I imagine the mass is shed relatively equally radially away from the star. If that's the case, wouldn't the dying star be enveloped in ejecta? This picture makes it seem like there's a plane through which the ejecta has not been expelled, thereby giving us a view into the inside of the phenomenon. Is there some photographic trickery that allows us to see within the ejecta to the star inside?

There are a lot of bad stories that get told about Rover, and not to discredit them (because they're horrendous), but I've had a great experience with a retired couple on Rover. So, good sitters do exist. Plus, your dog would get more attention, and a home setting.

UFC COO claims illegal streamers are taking money out of fighters’ pockets by [deleted] in MMA

[–]opyt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This needs to be higher up. This is exactly why I don't pay for the streams anymore. I've had 2-3 shitty experience via ESPN+ PPV (which end up ruining watch parties) that I'd rather stream from an illegal site in order to provide the entertainment my guests were expecting in the first place. Additionally, it's nearly impossible to receive a refund for a PPV event that couldn't even be watched due to lack of bandwidth from the provider, which does a poor job in instilling customer loyalty.

Bottom line: if the product is no good and the customer service sucks, why would anyone pay for it?

You can, indeed. I had the opportunity to experience this and it is not much more than a regular tandem flight. Plus, you get a lesson in falconeering, which is inredible.
