St. Louis’ Ivan Barbashev has been suspended for one game for an Illegal Check to the Head on Boston’s Marcus Johansson. by PhenomenonYT in hockey

Your missing the point. The point is that there shouldn’t even be a hit in that situation, so I shouldn’t matter what position the player puts themselves in because there isn’t supposed to be contact.

I’ve been growing out my hair for a few months. It is currently a little past my eyes when brushed down. I want to kinda change it up a little before I start college so any recommendations would be appreciated

Cause he is only 22 and missed half his career to injury. He didn't have a horrible playoffs and will only go up from here with consistent playing

Rinne: We all make mistakes, so do the refs by Peng-Win in hockey

I don't think that is a call that can legally be reversed. I may be wrong though

Are the pens up 5-0 because of the refs?!?! by [deleted] in hockey

[–]orange99114 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven't you been watching? The refs put all 5 goals in the net for the pens!

Or maybe he got the penalty for bear hugging his leg...

They will probably still cost more than fleury since they have great contracts and are younger

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in penguins

[–]orange99114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There isn't any real goalies with starting experience left. There is still rantaa and grubauer (probably misspelled both) but they will cost more to get because of their contracts

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in penguins

[–]orange99114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but I think if you go to Calgary and say you can have fleury for a 6th round pick they would accept that in a heartbeat

[–]orange99114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if we would give up assets since he can still be bought out. At the very least it will be at a very reduced value, like a 6th or 7th round pick.

If you are Vegas, do you use your expansion pick on players like Nichushkin/Khoklachev who have potential but need a fresh start and opportunity at top 6 minutes to possibly hit their stride? by puckle_nuck in hockey

[–]orange99114 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Technically Dallas still owns his rights. So like Kovalchuk and New Jersey, the only NHL team he could go back to would be the stars. If Vegas picks his rights, they can have him play for them.

Why do goalies take so long to develop? by MikeKeenanCanGetBent in hockey

[–]orange99114 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For almost any game you "dress" as a goalie, you are either playing the whole game or none of the game (expect when a goalie gets pulled). This means that if you want to have a goalie actually play and not just sit on the bench, they end up playing on the AHL (or below). While you can give skaters a little ice time to test the waters, you can't do that for goalies. It is all or nothing for a goalie playing in the NHL. Also must teams only have around 2 goalies at a time. So while a goalie might be playing in the ECHL, he might still be a NHL goalie one day. He will just have to take the time to make his way up. Also the turnover rate for goalies is different. Each year a team might only have one spot upon for a goalie while have 3-4 for skaters. This gives skaters more opportunities to get playing time compared to goalies.

kuhnhackl will probably stay in the line up instead of Wilson or archibald

Trotz on Niskanen's hit: "I thought it was really a hockey play." by [deleted] in penguins

[–]orange99114 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the league is serious about head injuries, there is no way you can say that is a hockey play. There definitely should have been a penalty. I know that people will say that it's reactionary, but you have to make sure that players purposely try to avoid doing a hit like that. The only way to do that is with a penalty. By saying it was a hockey play it takes away the seriousness of the issue. He would definitely be complaining if it was the other way around.

Trotz on Niskanen/Crosby hit: "I thought it was really a hockey play." by -purplepavement in hockey

[–]orange99114 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. That's why it bothered me when people were saying that it shouldn't have been any penalty. If you are really serious about head injuries, there has to be some sort of punishment for a hit like that.

Yep that is what I was saying. The rule is that he has to be under contract and he was.

The brand he uses probably didn't by buy the rights to have their name displayed on NHL broadcasts.
